Had he joined another team instead of Wednesday he may even had suddenly improved and been in the PL within 12 months.
To say a player was successful in a certain environment therefore it is unacceptable that he was not successful in a very different environment is to not understand humans really. Take a look at Leicester for a great example right now.
Antonio was never given a chance if he had played as many games as hrk or mcleary we would have seen his
Potential. How come 3 clubs see what we didn't see and this bullshit about he was not that good when he was playing for us is rubbish.

Gotta keep up the theme of the recent wins against Rotherham and Charlton to convert cup form into the league. It's the league that keeps you your job (not that I'm suggesting Bri's in danger). 41% win rate including the cup, just 31% in the league.

Antonio will go down as Reading's biggest transfer mistake and mis-judgement of ability since I have been supporting Reading from 1979. Majority of that is at McDermott's door however I am pleased he is back here and the club have made significant progress since his return.

He was a young player with unknown potential. That is a fact.

Antonio went after we'd been promoted because he was behind Kebe, McCleary, McAnuff and Robson-Kanu in the pecking order. All of which had pretty decent seasons in the PL (when fit and playing), so had he stayed the options were
a) loan him and lose him for nothing at the end of the season
b) play him in the U21s for a season and lose him for nothing at the end of the season
Why this keeps coming up is ridiculous though.

For a start we let Charlie Austin walk away from the club !
But apart from that the Antonio situation was really not that different to the Sidwell one. Player was not interested in signing a new deal and moved on, at least in Antonio's case we made a decent profit on him

This really. He was playing in the wrong position at the wrong time. He obviously had ability but it wasn't as dumb a decision as its being made out here to sell him when we did. He was far more valuable to Wednesday than he was for us, and, thus the deal made sense for everybody.
