I think in Spain/Portugal release clauses are mandatory/legal obligation and it's for the player to buy himself out of his contract so the clubs set it at ridiculously high amounts. I doubt Benfica would actually be after €45,000,000 for Ola.

Woodcote Royal How much have we paid so far for 2 league goals from Vydra? How does this outlay compare to what was spent on Quinn, Doyle, Kitson and Long?
Had he lived up to expectations and we were now looking forward to life back in the top flight, he would be well worth a punt at the agreed £10m? in the original deal.
The facts are, though, he didn't and we aren't so to fork out millions from our final parachute payment based on the kind of season's form that would have seen 18k Long derided as "Not good enough and never will be" is the stuff of Fantasy Island. He may be a world beater one day but it's a risk we simply can't afford to take.
Jon, on the other hand, would be at a sensible price but I can't see it happening.
A cheeky £1m buy back offer for Hector is probably our best chance of success.

Good job Vydra's gone a long way to paying for himself with FA Cup goals then. Plus all the League goals he's helped create.
Why the hell would Chelsea accept a £3m loss for a player they bought a year ago who has performed well on loan?

I wouldn't bother looking for logic by someone who wants ticket prices to be more expensive.

PS. Never ask Ian Royal to buy a second hand car on your behalf.
