They're beating Gloucester atm, would bring them within 5pts of Newcastle.

Sutekh Been better this season actually as they've played less games than normal as they somehow managed to fail to qualify for Europe last season (and that is difficult in rugby's top division).

And it is BAD that they're getting relegated as the division below has 4 more teams in it, therefore more games again!

The ideal place for them to finish is wherever they did last season i.e. stay in the top league but don't get into Europe.

They are actually in the quarter finals of the rugby equivalent of the Europa League and have played several European games at home. All the Premiership clubs play in Europe, top 6 in one competition, the rest in the other.
This season due to the World Cup there was no LDV cup so fewer games as a result.

They have also confirmed that whether they are relegated or not they will stay at the Madejski next season. Good news for anyone with an interest in sport or an open mind....

The tone of the post is incredibly condescending, as are most of the posts nameless makes on this subject.

Not liking rugby doesn't mean someone doesn't have an open mind or an interest in sport, it just means that perhaps they don't enjoy rugby.

Paul (and others) did start out with that nonsense about rugby destroying the pitch and said they'd be delighted if Irish were relegated and left.

I know I'd be condescending if I liked something and someone wanted me to stop liking it.

Rugby does play a part in destroying the pitch in poor weather conditions. If LI weren't at the Madejski we wouldn't have two professional contact sports being played on it over the course of a weekend.

I played rugby at a reasonable level and have no prejudices against it.

 madness to believe rugby doesn't affect the pitch, only on this fair portal would you get such nonsense

LOL at anyone including you saying that Rugby is not destroying the pitch. You are being serious right? In fact don't answer that as cant face this debate again - bit like Antonio!

You are correct that I would like them relegated if it meant they were not playing at our football stadium. Nothing against rugby, love all sports, nothing against London Irish - but would be more than happy for them to be playing in London, near Richmond at an appropriate Rugby venue.
