Interesting you haven't been leaving it after the rest of the 20 odd games BM has been in charge or after the end of Clarke's. Just after we've had a poor run of 4 defeats.

Why shouldnt BM be judged on all his games then ! He's poor and results show that ..

1 point out of a possible 15.

Has BMs PPG gone above Clarke's yet?

Surely with the time Brian's had at the club now - things should be improving?

You haven't really made an argument. You keep harping on about PPG. And you're a Chelsea fan anyway. Not relevant when you don't care about RFC.

It's just you post the same thing every week because you like getting the responses. No use in belabouring the point, we all know we're in bad form. Brian's PPG was competitive (and that was when I argued he was doing a decent job), and now it's not.

But Brian still needs the summer regardless. I'll share my criticism of him once he's had a chance to make his mark on the team. I do hope he doesn't persist with his current tactics though.

I don't really like his tactics either at the moment.

But I'll allow it for now because it doesn't matter anymore. He needs freedom to experiment without being slammed all the time. If he doesn't try his diamond then he won't know that we're useless at it.

That should be evident by now, though.

I just want to see quick football, with wingers and pace and urgency, like our promotion season. With the current system you need quick full backs that want to get forward on the overlap/in behind and can cross a ball. At the moment both seem to get to the edge of the box and either shank the cross or wuss out and pass sideways. It's so ineffective.

Let's start with some players that can at least run box to box.

What you have described is exactly the kind of football that I want to see as well. I want us to have fast wingers on both flanks with over lapping full backs. Get back to a proper 4-4-2.

On Saturday McDermott made a decision not to play any loans, so he had to play this stupid diamond formation. Maybe Brian thinks with some practise he can make it work. We played quite well in that shape against Forest. But then Obita was there to provide proper balance on the left.

The thread title is "How impressed are you with BMcD's return to the club?" If it were rephrased "How impressed are you with BMcD's future at the club?" You might have a valid point.

And this thread was created about a week after he took the job.

To start judging him for Steve Clarke's mess when he had only been in the job for 10 days is

I think it's plausible to judge him 10 days in. Many managers have an immediate impact. See Ranieri, see Warnock.

I think it's perfectly valid to take consider the fact he's not had a chance to build his own team when answering the thread's question.

It's a good job Warnock has been given time to build a squad at Rotherham.
