too much real life/web life crossover for me to link them, and they were nothing special anyway tbh. Those Vice articles are much better versions of what I was doing. basically.

would love to travel the world writing on weird football though

Easter Island would be a great venue to play

to be fair to him, that's what Archie's Penalty kinda did. He was working piece meal in shite UK universities, decided he wanted to return to Europe, and went off to do his thing.

similar theme - I went to school with someone who is one of the main writers for Fourfourtwo magazine. he wasn't even that into football at school ffs! and when we went up under Coppell he pretended to be an RFC fan on Sky Sports.

I'd have gone with "Stam playing a high defensive line again I see".

https://www.theguardian.com/football/in ... ller-dream

Really evocative read this, of life as a 'real' professional footballer and below the top level of the game. Perhaps a credit to the US sports scholarship system too, very well written - by Mancunian Laurie Bell, rejected by Man City and Stockport County, he has found a professional career in the third tier of the US league.

5 games into the season in Finland and former Mansfield Town midfielder John Allen has FC Jazz bottom of the 2nd division

Former Grimsby & Darlington defender Dave Booth has just taken up the reigns at Lao Premier League club Lanexang United, after 8 games he has them in 2nd place. He used to manage the Laos national team too.
