Championship/L1/L2 2016/17

Looking at Newcastles team and pretty impressed to be honest. On paper they should really walk this game, but they haven't seen to gelled that much and a lot of stray balls. Fulham are doing more than enough to stifle them. Lets see how the game goes. I still feel Fulham are good shouts to go down, with Rotherham and Bizzle City/Barnsley.

So happy that football is back on! Fwiw, i really want to see Burton do well this season and AFC Wimbledon.

As I said on the betting thread, the pre-season Fulham has looked a decent unit, a few new signings like Madl and Aluko are of the right kind of quality; key for Fulham won't imho be at the back (where they struggled) or up front (where they are Aluko, Cairney, Woodrow and that big lump Matt Smith) but in getting a more mobile midfield, that was marshalled by O'Hara and Parker last season. They made Guthrie and Leigertwood look dynamic.

Game is very much an opening game of the season so far, very scrappy.

I'm enjoying the new dissent rule - a finger to the lips from the ref a few times to remind players not to remonstrate with him.

Aluko looks a handful. They do look like they have bedded in more comfortably than Newcastle have. I think the stigma around Newcastle could be their downfall. As i type this, dumbfounded how that wasnt a pen.

What a bullet header, and at a key moment too.

Is Shane Duffy on a bet?

Trips over the ball and scores an own goal in Blackburn's 4-1 defeat at Wigan at the weekend.
Scores two more own goals to consign his team to a 2-1 defeat against Cardiff last night, including a brilliant toe-punted finish after a Cardiff shot hit the post.
Then gets sent off, a second yellow, for whacking the ball at a Cardiff player after the game was stopped for offside.

And all this after he was sent off in Ireland's 2-1 defeat to France at Euro 2016.

That was absolutely hilarious. I think Blackburn are an shockingteam this season so far. Probably the worst in the few games that have been played.

Apparently between the two games he has also rejected a new contract offer. Blackburn fans concerned that the own goals are 'not a coincidence.'

Blackburn this season's Bolton?

If Burton can keep grinding out results like the one at home to Wednesday then they will be able to hang around for a little while.
