Forbushman Brighton are most famous for an ad in a Brighton Newsagent quite a few years ago. The ad read '11 clockwork clowns for sale, tel. nnnn nnnnnn' the number of course being Brighton's telephone number, vast quantities of people rang and it was reported in all of the dailies.. This being a fans response to the pathetic time that Brighton had in the top division.

Reading, a big club compared to Brighton, never had that sort of national interest (and derision) during our recent times in the top flight.

Can't wait til NSC pick up on this...

genome Brighton expect about 6 to 8k according to their boards.

Surely these figures are missing an indicie above them, right?

They don't care though remember.... Although the 12 page thread specifically on forbushmans post will suggest otherwise.

I don't really get this "might get a big tie" thinking. Fair enough 20+ years ago when we might play a top flight club once every 5 years but it's become a bit old hat over the past 10 years.

But we're away to the biggest club in the country.

hats off to those brave enough to go.
a cauldron of noise, passion and hostility.Real football fans.
far removed from the sea of empty blue seats that we're used to seeing.

Z175
While I'm all for giving fringe players a go in the earlier rounds when the manager is new, we know the best 11 now.

Glad you do :? I wouldn't say the side picks itself just yet.

But agree some continuity could be what is best for the side to progress. They shouldn't need a rest.

Roy'll Giant Killing at the Amex. I'm going with another 1-2 win tonight.

I see Stam choosing to start Samuel, Mendes & Harriott as the front three.

Then Bringing Beerens on as he did against MK. Roy to get two late goals to suckerpunch the seagulls.

I'm sticking with my 3 game predictions as they've been pretty close so far.
3-1 to Brighton. Harriott to score for us.

maffff Sod the cup, give the youngsters a shot at impressing Stam.

-------------------Jaakkola
Watson----Keown-----McIntyre----Griffin
--------------------Wieser-------------
---------Gravenbeast----Kelly
Mendes--------------------------Harriott
-------------------Samuel

Moore, Jules, Quinn, Swift, Barrett, Sheppard, Novakovich/Cardwell

Since the following played yesterday

Moore, Sheppard, Griffin, Jules, McIntyre, Bennett, Rinomhota, Frost, Barrett, Cardwell, Novakovich. Subs Southwood, Vancooten, Andresson, East, Smith.

Vancooten, East and Smith came on as subs yesterday

Williams and GMac are suspended, Rakels injured, assume vdB still injured.

So I'd set up with

-------------------Jaakkola
Watson----Moore-----McShane----Obita
--------------------Wieser-------------
---------Gravenbeast----Kelly
Mendes--------------------------Harriott
-------------------Samuel

Ali, Gunter, Osho, Quinn [or Evans,], Swift, Beerens, Kermorgant.

Would Anil Capkin or Cameron Green be eligible to appear on the bench?

If so, throw Capkin as sub for Watson instead of Gunter - he's 20 and a right back.

edit: Keown appears to be injured, so Moore with Cooper then.

Edit: Cooper apparently injured. Looks like it'll have to be Moore and McShane then? Unless we throw Osho straight in, Otherwise we'd be looking at Wieser/Gravenbeast moving to CB, with vdB if back (surely we wouldn't risk him), Evans or Quinn starting in CM with Kelly / Wieser/Danzell.

Well McCleary and Williams wouldn't have played anyway - just as well considering both are suspended tonight.

So

Jaakkola

Watson
Blackett
Gravenberch
Moore

Berg
Evans
Kelly

Harriott
Mendes
Samuel

Looks like these are the options for tonight (if vdB / Cooper are returning from injury). Assuming Meite is out, Williams and McCleary suspended.

I really want to see Danzell get a go in midfield again tonight. There's something endearing about the idea of Gravenbeast marauding his way through midfield pulling the ball and everything else into his gravitational field.

"the beast of Falmer"

Weiser is still building up fitness levels i believe so may not be included at all. That said, you have to start playing him at some point and he cant be that far off having turned out v Spain recently so why not tonight?

Jaakkola, Watson, Obita, Blackett, Moore, Kelly, Swift, Quinn, Mendes, Harriott, Samuel.

#youngsters frozen out.

Very good mix of youth, reserve and first teamers there. Happy with that.
