I don't think Mings should be banned.

He actually wasn't looking at Zlatan when he made contact so there is no real evidence that his stamp was deliberate. I don't think anyone but a psycho would look, see approximately where the head was then look away and see what damage he inflicted later. And actually there's nothing to suggest Mings IS a psycho.

He should be let off.

Ibra's elbow most certainly was deliberate so he definitely should be banned.

Of course this is Bournemouth and Man Utd we are talking about here so the actual verdicts are entirely likely to be the other way around.

Ian Royal
paultheroyal Mings clearly knew what he was doing and with the conflicting comments on here show that he executed his plan to perfection.

Zlatan - again - retribution - but not as clever - guilty.

3 game ban for Zlatan - 4 or 5 game ban for Mings.

Maybe it's just my perception having heard about stamp and elbow and watching to find the stamp looked less bad than I expected while the elbow was exactly as I imagined.

Exactly this...it's so hard for humans to remain unbiased

I'm far from convinced that Mings stamp was accidental but at least his was by way of a natural movement whilst stumbling and hurdling the two bodies on the floor (I've only seen it once clearly so I could be mistaken).

The elbow on the other hand, well that's certainly the player going out of his way to throw the elbow and he knows exactly where his intended target is as there is contact between the two of them. Of the two it's clearly more of a deliberate action.

Obviously we can't read the minds of the players, but then neither can the ref or the disciplinary committee in any given situation so there has to be some guess work by anyone passing a judgement either on the pitch or in the committee room.

1) Mings should be banned for at least 3 games. Diego Costa received a 3 game ban for a 'stamp' on Emre Can last season where there was some debate as to whether he meant it.

2) Ibrahimovic should also get a 3 game ban.

3) Why are people moaning about Surman being sent off for two yellow cards? The push alone should have got him a straight red. Remember last season when Ashley Barnes nearly broke Matic leg? Matic got up and pushed him over. Straight red, 3 game ban.

Partly disagree on point 3. Didn't think Surman should have got the first booking but agree that the push should have been a straight red

The ref had a total 'mare

Sorry I didn't make point 3 clear. The 1st tackle by Surman was never a yellow card.

If Mings is banned then they must believe that it was a deliberate act and one he could have avoided.

If that's the case, then I'd expect a long ban. Maybe 6+ games.

There is no way you can prove if he meant it or not. Likewise with Costa on Emre Can last season. Being consistent the FA should give him a 3 game ban for the incident alone.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after he admitted an FA charge of violent conduct and accepted the standard penalty.
It follows an incident in or around the 44th minute of the game between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth on Saturday (4 March 2017).
The misconduct was not seen by the match officials at the time but caught on video.

That really annoyed me when all the Man United players angrily surrounded the ref.

I wish he'd have calmly Yellow carded one. And after another warning, carded one more and so on.

It's a disgrace and I'm fed up of seeing it.

Man Utd have been charged by the FA for failing to control their players in Monday's FA Cup tie v Chelsea.

However. Rojo escapes any punishment. Bemused by that tbh.

With a lot of stamps, it's difficult to prove intent.

I can't really make my mind up. Is he looking to put his foot onto
the ground and Hazard rolls to (camera) left underneath Rojo or
is it deliberate? He defo pulls out but that doesn't prove initial
intentions

In the clip below...it only looks really bad when they close right in on
it. I have a United bias, Kes Chelsea bias so blah blah...etc

But Diego got a three game ban for this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzRDNUXE9So

So to be consistent Rojo should have got a three match ban.
