That`s what Harriott and Frost did on Monday night to decide who took the penalty(1st) against Birmingham U23`s !!!AthleticoSpizz wrote:Referee David McNamara has been suspended for three weeks following Readings 1-1 draw with Man City.
Having forgotten his coin for the toss-up* he had the team captains play rock, paper, scissors![]()
Personally, I congratulate him for his improvisation.

Seems a very harsh punishment for that misdemeanour, given some of the appalling performances that his fellow refs produce and which go unpunished. Perhaps it was for being so stupid. There was a decent attendance at that game. Why didn't he just run over to the crowd and ask to borrow a coin? From Despair To Where? wrote:AthleticoSpizz wrote:Referee David McNamara has been suspended for three weeks following Readings 1-1 draw with Man City.

On the one hand, great improvisation, on the other hand, he's not exactly overburdened with things to remember.
Exactly. Either that or he's an incredibly slow runner. Anyway, no guarantee that Rock, Paper, Scissors will be over quickly! From Despair To Where? wrote:I agree it's a harsh punishment. Apparently he went for rock, paper scissors because the game was being broadcast live and he didn't have time to get a replacement coin because it would fcuk up broadcasting schedules.
If true, that in itself tells you everything that's wrong with football IMO. Like the game can't handle a 1 minute delay considering there's an unpredetermined amount of added time in every game.
Someone who went has estimated 200-300 there- it was free entry as well. 5th round( last 16 ) is due to be played next Sunday. Next league match is at Madejski stadium on Wednesday February 20th against West Ham KO 7.30PMAthleticoSpizz wrote:Thanks R&R....no upsets there then.

I’ve never been to one of the Women’s games (not for any reason other than I just haven’t !) . May make a point of getting to the game on the 20th.Royals and Racers wrote:Someone who went has estimated 200-300 there- it was free entry as well. 5th round( last 16 ) is due to be played next Sunday.
