Yep, so to “conveniently add my other family members” I need to set an account per head, even though my son isn’t about to buy anything soon. Different.200 Miles wrote:Linking to other people seems to be a problem, they need an account first which isn't what was advertised
My mrs and step kids don’t have accounts but it let me add their member cards to my F&F list.Singing Defective wrote:Yep, so to “conveniently add my other family members” I need to set an account per head, even though my son isn’t about to buy anything soon. But hey, ludicrously cheap STs make up for slight flakiness.

Really shoddy from the club.
It does seem to work now, I selected they do have an account (which they don't) entered the details and it found them. But that's exactly what I did before and it didn't. Maybe fixed or maybe me.Wallsy wrote:My mrs and step kids don’t have accounts but it let me add their member cards to my F&F list.Singing Defective wrote:Yep, so to “conveniently add my other family members” I need to set an account per head, even though my son isn’t about to buy anything soon. And maybe part of the exercise is to purge the system of the undoubtably huge number of dormant, duplicate or fraudulent accounts ?Hendo wrote:Not really thoughtmesis wrote:I've no idea why accounts couldn't have been passed over automatically. It's a basic IT task.

Probably best that you confirm the old system can talk to the new system and describe the basic IT task the club should’ve taken?
None of which means getting users to reregister isn't a valid thing to do. Trying to second guess what a dormant account is or even a duplicate is never going to be perfect and everything has a cost....Snowflake Royal wrote:It's no big deal, but data migration is a very standard part of any IT development regardless of whether the two systems talk to each other. And duplicate / inactive account data deletion should be no problem as part of that.
Hence why I said it's no big deal. It's a fairly easy way to trim costs. But data migration is fairly standard and better customer service.Nameless wrote:None of which means getting users to reregister isn't a valid thing to do. Make sure you complete the profile page correctly. As the system allows you to continue even if you haven't.Jagermesiter1871 wrote:I clicked linked accounts and it doesn't offer me any option to add my previous account - anyone having this issue? What a state.
On a phone it didn’t let me. On the laptop it did.Jagermesiter1871 wrote:I clicked linked accounts and it doesn't offer me any option to add my previous account - anyone having this issue? What a state.
