Stranded Bournemouth win pushes us down to 5th but with a 4pt gap to 7th and 5 to 8th.

Yep was hoping Wycombe might get something against Boro but otherwise a good day

We’d all have been absolutely delighted with this position 5 or 6 games ago with the injuries we’ve had and that set of fixtures

Yep. Exceeded my expectations and just about the best anyone could realistically hope for. We’re in a great position now, just got to hope we stay relatively injury free.

was there any word on why Joao came off?

I haven’t seen but hopefully it was precautionary. Even if it wasn’t it didn’t look serious enough for him to not be available for Brentford.

We’ve got players returning at just the right time. Other teams may fatigue but our returning injured players will almost feel like new signings. Like you say, we have put ourselves in a great position.

Zip Bournemouth not good for our automatic promotion hopes but good for our play off hopes.

Step by step and WNG but with half the season left much better to open up a gap below than worry about teams ahead.

We just need to focus on our own results. Brentford is a big game. I would like to see yesterday’s starting line up plus Olise rested for Luton so that they are fresh for Brentford. Win that and it will be a big boost.

Luton game is very timely. Should be able to get a game into Puscas, maybe some more minutes for Swift, maybe McIntyre and then rest who else we need to. Might even have Meite, Araruna or Yiadom back

We should be fit and firing for Brentford, no excuses

Laurent and Rinomhota definitely need a rest.

Think Meite is a while off sadly, was a pic of him on twitter wearing some kind of protective thing on his right leg.

Worry about our midfield without them.

Definitely game time for Puscas. Would want to rest Swift. He has had game time in three successive games and wouldn’t want to risk him for a match that doesn’t really matter. I would also rest Tommy Mac who has had plenty of time on the pitch on the past few games although thinking about it he may have to play as we will be short of centre backs if Morrison and Holmes are also rested

Semedo and Esteves could replace them at Luton.

Likewise, which is why we need to rest them...

Just play Tetek or whoever

Yeh, would probably play Holmes, McIntyre, Esteves, Semedo, Baldock and Puscas. Plus the u23s.

Given his error freecouple of games presumably the clamour to drop Rafael has died down and he will play ?

Of course Rafa won't play in the cup.

Tough to drop him after his recent performances though.....

He won’t be dropped. Just rested. It gives Southwood much needed game time.
