I'm jumping the gun and tempting fate here, but the transfers that sound close seem like very smart business. In fact, if you look at recruitment for a couple of years has been pretty smart.
Is this due to smarter management and the Dais learning from their early mistakes? Or is it FFP forcing us to be smart?
Obviously FFP is not perfect. There is no transparency and the uncertainty and lack of clarity the club has had this summer has been farcical. It's also a shame we seem to have our hands tied on contract renewals too.
But I can't help but think that we'd still be throwing around big contracts left right and centre without proper due diligence were it not for FFP. Now we really have to choose where we spend our resources carefully, and we seem to be making smarter decisions because of this.
