Sanguine One of the worst penalties you will ever see, by Granada's Luis Suarez. Albeit it does appear that the turf around the penalty spot gave way.

Thats shocking, very reminiscent of Beck's penalty away at Turkey.

Element of sympathy - but he should be checking for that.

Juve lose again. 13 points off the top spot having played a game more. No one has ever won the league having been 13 points behind.

Was listening to something on Ajax today. 1/3 of the way through the Eredivisie season and they have conceded just 2 goals

A goal difference of +35. There are only 3 other teams with a positive goal difference and the next best is +14

Top of the table but not runaway leaders though. 3 other clubs, one with a game in hand, all very close behind

Celta Vigo score in the 96th minute to draw 3-3 with Barcelona, coming back from three nil down.

Venezia beating Roma 3-2 with 15 minutes to go. Mourinho really is a spent force at club level, didn't want to believe that but its true.

Perhaps international management might be the way forward for him? Players wouldn't have to be around him day in and day out, plays a style suited to it.

West ham smashing it this year. Moyes has done a great job.

It's the 80s all over again. Real Sociedad top of La Liga, albeit having played a game more than Real and Sevilla.

In the Championship, Mitrovic got his 20th  league goal of the season for Fulham in their 1-0 win at Peterborough. It's Nov 8th, and really difficult to see how he doesn't go past the Championship record of 31.

Sky said 31, I'm guessing then it's a very specific 'Championship' record since it was renamed. Tbf I think Mitrovic might beat Whittingham's mark too.

Agreed, think it is going to take an injury or something catastrophic to stop him.

Serie B is all very close - Brescia top on 24 points, but only eight points clear of 14th-placed Parma.

Opposite case in Portugal's Primeira Liga, where the traditional big three of Porto, Benfica and Sporting are already eight points clear of 4th spot.

Going to do some digging on Belgium's Royal Union Saint-Gilloise. Steeped in history, they are Belgium's most successful pre-war team when they won 11 titles, but they were relegated from the Belgian top flight in 1963 and only returned this season. They are now top of the league and shaking up the normal order of things, four points ahead of Antwerp and Club Brugge.

Turkish Super Lig looking interesting this season. Approaching a third of the way through the season and the top 3 spots are occupied by Trabzonspor, Hatayspor & Konyaspor.

Trabzonspor in particular haven't lost a game and have only dropped 6 points so far. Marek Hamsik having a bit of a renaissance there it seems after his career looked to be winding down.

Lovely stuff. Just looked at the Belgian table and Anderlecht are a fairly low 8th. Kompany got them to 3rd in the regular season last year, though they finished bottom of the 4-team championship round without a win.

Brechin's fall from grace has been spectacular - three successive relegations from the Championship to Highlands League in three (completed) seasons.

The SPFL was a closed shop until 2015, when finally play-offs were instigated between the bottom sides in League Two and the winners of the Highlands and Lowlands Leagues. Means League Two now contains Annan, Edinburgh City and Kelty Hearts, who are top, and Cove Rangers are battling for promotion from League One to the Championship.
