Barcelona end their long search for a Dani Alves replacement by re-signing Dani Alves.

He may need to work on his ageing reversal process (unless he’s just coming back for a coaching role)

They've got a real issue with things being thrown over in France, second time in a couple of months isn't it? Think the French FA need to be a bit stronger with their punishment, two game bans clearly aren't enough.

Fourth incident this season in the league, second time that Payet has been hit. Had to  at the suggestions by the club that this is 'an isolated incident'.

If only the French would be willing and strong. Otherwise there might be neither.

more than a third of the season gone in France and the dream attacking line up so far have:

Mbappe - 7 goals
Neymar - 3 goals
Messi - 1 goal

There's something so underwhelming about it. It's like a football version of the Harlem Globetrotters, without the fun.

1 of of them wants to leave and is very likely already sorting that out, 1 of them never really wanted to be there anyway, cried publicly at the idea of having to leave his last club and had his hand forced (to an extend) on joining them, and the other appears past his prime and is there for little more than money.

and when all 3 play together you have a team with 3 luxury forwards who between them won't do a jot of tracking back.

I do wonder what happens to PSG after Qatar 2022

As weird as it might sound I think all 3 leaving PSG will be better for the club in the long term, largely for the reasons you outlined. Neymar is poison and Messi is not the same bloke, don't think he is happy there at all. Not sure where he goes from here to be honest but maybe a nice easy life in the MLS or back in Argentina for a couple of seasons would do him good. That being said I wouldn't rule out a return to Barca at some point.

Heard Philippe Auclair (french football journalist) say on a podcast on Wednesday that in France there is already quite a bit of talk that Messi has had enough and his people are working to set up a move to Miami FC.

Difficult to know much about a relatively private man and maybe I'd act differently were I a near billionaire footballer - but football to me has always been about the 'romance', and it really surprised me, if his time at Barca really had to come to an end, that he didn't head back to Newell's in Argentina. He chose soulless 'super-club' and that's what he has got.

Would not be surprised if he does a Dani Alves and goes for 1 Euro a week

Belenenses had 17 players unavailable due to Covid so named all available players in the starting lineup.

Someone high up at the Portugese FA needs sacking for insisting the game went ahead. That's sort of shit only happens in Sunday League.
