The sooner the season ends the better. Seeing defeat after defeat is depressing

Bleurgh. That was pretty shite.

Southwood - 6 one goal he should have done better on, couple of very good saves, kicking fell apart when his team mates started berating him for their own errors.
Yiadom - 6 not too much came down his side, didn't create a lot though
McIntyre - 5 LOL, play a very slow CB at fullback vs one of the best and quickest attacking RBs in the division. Good management. :| Awful crossing.
Dann - 4 does things that aren’t that important to defending well. Doesn’t defend well. Slower than a quadriplegic tortoise. At fault for a goal, by getting done with the exact same turn Davis did Morrison for the first.
Morrison - 4 got completely done by a Davis turn for their first goal on 19 seconds, nowhere on their striker for the 4th
Rinomhota - 5 sloppy by his standards, though not as bad as some of his colleagues
Pisswater - 2 can't tackle, can't pass, can't run, can't mark and can't shoot. He's not even very good at pointing or looking brooding in a football shirt.
Laurent - 6 He's one of our few actual athletic players I guess. Had a good chance he couldn't deal with
Hoilett - 6 isolated and didn't create a lot, possibly at fault for not going with Spence on the first. Some decent stuff
Ince - 6 MotM probably. Crossed for Laurent, at least one great run, athletic and bright, but just a bit lightweight and no end product. Got booked needlessly.
Meite - 5 one great run with no end product. Looked isolated and lost up front on his own. Not even anyone in behind supporting him

Joao - 6 looked more suited to the striker role than Meite
Ejaria - 5 he looked tidy, but I don't really recall anything. Would be a 6 if he'd come on 15 / 20 minutes later, but he was on for almost a full half, only thing I can remember is being in the defensive line for the third and stepping out to challenge the shooter and not getting much on it, then goal.
Barker - 6 direct run and shot

Ince - -7 put McIntyre up against Spence, took off Rino not Pisswater, left Meite utterly isolated and on for 90 minutes having said he wasn't remotely ready for that and needed to be protected, just 3 days earlier. Has done nothing to improve squad morale or togetherness the way several players laid into Southwood for no good reason.

Apart from the first 17 seconds, felt we edged the first half, despite poor displays from McIntyre and Drinkwater. Not replacing Richards with a permanent signing has been one of the key factors for our decline. Actually felt reasonably confident at half-time, guessed that Forest would bound to improve, but whatever Ince said didn’t work. Absolute shower that second half. Soft goals, again. Abysmal defending, again. Terrible passing, again. Never remotely looked like scoring, again. The team looks as clueless as it has all season.

Yiadom wasn’t terrible, Ejaria did ok again as a sub, and nice to finally see Barker, who made one decent run. Two absolute shite corners mind.

Forest mate who also lives in Bournemouth just phoned to wish me well for Tuesday night and was at great pains not to gloat after yesterday.
He said that, more than anything else, having seen most of our games home and away v Forest over the years, he was surprised at how bad we were and couldn't understand (can anyone?) why we chose a manager who last managed 8 years ago.

His summary and comments were:
How small our keeper is
Where was Swift?
Why did we allow such a free reign to the right-side (their known strongest) attack?
Reading gave up when the 2nd goal went in.
The booing of Ince was due to a Notts County and Derby connection.

I'm genuinely concerned now that we still seem to concede 4 goals a game. How?! It's not like we go gung-ho to get level and concede on the break, we just don't seem to be able to stop shots coming in.

I don't get how we just collapse every game. We seemed to be doing alright until we got that points deduction, what the heck happened?!

Forest weren't much, and we totally allowed them to dominate, taking off Rinomhota for Ejaria was a clear tactical misjudgement by Ince, second goal was Ejaria and Morrison getting done by a single turn, sure Rino would have stayed on his feet.

Didn't think we could get worse after Pauno left, Paul Ince is just using his crap tactics so how the hell is that going to help us, all us fans can see we have about the slowest back line in the championship, so why not look to change it stick Yiadom in a back three, stick Tom Ince left wingback, Rinomhota right wing back , Laurent in the defensive midfielder, midfield 3 of Ejaria, Swift and Meite and Joao up top.

Not huge changes but gives us a bit more energy and someone with a bit of pace in the back three who can't cross from the right anyhow.

So cheesed of with the mess the club is in, still my club and hopefully will still be in business in a few years time.

Football Post: There's no spark, pace, drive or desire. So we inch the ball around the pitch, make a mistake and they score. I don't even know what happened at the start, we were walking along the Trent, heard the roar and went "nah, too early for a goal". Of all the players, Barker rose his head above the parapet by actually playing with some purpose. The rest? I wouldn't even say bad, there's no calamities, there's no fuck ups, its all just universally below the standard required.

Day Out Post: I've slated Nottingham in the past. Came here once as they were demolishing a cigarette factory and the place reeked of fag ash. Been back since, once or twice, and its a pleasant away day. Beerheads, micropub tucked away outside the station worth it for a pint of a session IPA then a catch up of some fruity New Zealand IPA. Uber to the ground, just in time to miss the first goal. Bottle of warm carling at half time. Slightly stronger than the team's performance in the second half. Trent Navigation Inn, a few hundred yards over the other side of the river for a pint, sat out in the Brewery yard. Bustling pub, nice tiles. Little walk to a statue of Notts County's best manager and also a very long serving stalwart ("Between joining the club in 1957 and retirement enforced by arthritis in the hip in 1983, during which time he filled numerous roles including trainer, coach, caretaker manager and scout, Wheeler never missed a first-team match – 1,152 consecutive games.").
Back to the city centre for a whistle-stop tour of three pubs all claiming to be Britain's oldest. First, the Bell Inn. The front, and the position, made us check we were right. It's a Greene King. It's right on the main city square. It was very stag/hen do friendly. It also goes back like a TARDIS with side rooms, three + separate bars, a rather lovely panelled room right at the back and, yeah, actually quite nice. Next, Ye Olde Salutation Inn, a proper metal pub. Again, lots of little side rooms and 'caves, tours available at management discretion'. Suitably loud. Castle Rock Brewery provided the pints here. We'd passed their Brewery earlier in the day. Finally, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, with its cubby holes cut into the castle foundations themselves. A bit tourist trap, sure, but a very comfy cosy pub.
Nottingham: solid one.

Isn't he a fellow AA buddy of Green?
Missing the first goal because of having yet another pint seems crazy for me having already spent a fortune on travel and a ticket for the match.

It really doesn't. I would much rather sit in the pub than watch our shower of shit try* and play football.

I'm sure he is but I don't get the fixation that he and Green have with drink on a football day.

Probably because , for so many years, I have always travelled by car I am on that day only concerned with the football, however for the first time ever this season have considered both giving up the season ticket and having a drink or two instead.
