Don't get rattled Paul, I am sure he will sign eventually. Just not when you said he would......

Far from rattled. It is great to be around people who are directly involved with a club i love and also great there are times when information can be shared. You are clutching at straws and being utterly pathetic if an unveiling does not immediately happen for you to make comment, for all sorts of reasons.

NathStPaul PTR has gone quiet. Must be sorting out a snag in the Shane Long deal that he has clearly brokered.

Sometimes i think you are joking and then other times you look and sound like a babbling fool.

Members on this forum should be pleased that although i know it actually hurts you, it bothers you, it grates with you that there are actually people in the know. Along with that Gaz fella there are not actually that many people on here who have connections.

i dont need to justify how i know, who i am associated with etc etc - but just enjoy the moment, be thankful for the info and basically stop squealing like a big girls blouse.

Enjoy Shane Long, coupled with some additions!!

So expecting a few more this week then?

Reckon we’ll pick up Hutchinson shortly, did Jeanvier play any part against Maidenhead? Haven’t seen a mention

How we looking now - something like

Lumley
Yiadom Dann Holmes McIntyre
Meite Fornah Hendrick Ince
Ovie
Joao

Bouzanis, Hoilett, Hutchinson, Jeanvier, Long, Tetek, Azeez

It’s not too bad considering

Yeah, it's fine not massively exciting but fine given where we are but then if you read the 05/06 side it wouldn't have massively excited. If this lot have a relative level of success (i.e. finish 15th) then it will give us an unexpectedly good base for next summer's moves.

That’s pretty solid with decent bench options.

Saints mate asked me how many clubs regard Shane Long as a legend.
He is a bit underwhelmed at Shane's contribution to Saints' fortunes over the past few years.

Have we ever played Ejaria next to João like that? I know some said we should try but I thought it was one of those things that fell on managers deaf ears.

Consensus seems to be he’ll take over Swifts role but we’ll see

Jnr says Select Car Leasing are doing something at The Oracle today. Pretty certain Long will be announced today.

That team and squad looks decent to me, it doesn't look any worse than the likes of Rotherham, Wigan, Blackpool, Birmingham and Bristol City just to name a few either really. Not to mention others like Cardiff, Luton, Huddersfield, Preston and Hull could be in the mix as well.

If we manage to pull someone like Fulton in, that helps solidify the midfield up much more as well as a left back so we can put McIntyre in a more natural position as well, then we should be in good shape for the season. We can use whatever budget is left to plug gaps really then.

I think they are keen to pick up BOO - annoying he has got injured

Hopefully can pull in someone like Fulton as well with one of our remaining loans, and keep the others for deadline day necessity

Not in a bad state then. Do have good solid u23 depth, would be more than happy to see Abrefa, Clarke, Ehib, Camara, Scott on the bench if and when needed

Yeh, as I said on the other thread, it's shame we know it's coming as everyone would be losing their shit (even more so) if it was totally out of the blue.

I know he's nowhere near the player he was, but he's worth if just for the feel good moment. For the first time in a while everyone is actually excited about something. Should provide valuable experience off the pitch, and work rate and passion on the pitch. Hopefully chip in a few goals as well. Might even teach a few of the other players what it means to play for Reading. I know that sounds like sentimental bollox, but just from the legends game you could see what the players from that era meant to us. Absolutely buzzing he's back.
