What happened ?

[edit] OK seen it now. Could’ve gone either way I think
Giving the foul is not inherently wrong

I'm quite happy with the decision. If Antonio hadn't put his hands out and pushed it might have been different, but IMHO he definitely could have avoided running into the defender and decided not to.

PS Remember the promises that VAR would always give the correct decisions and there'd be no arguments after games? That went well...

Yet if it was Haaland or Salah - there’s no way it’s being disallowed. It’s the same thing every time where the same teams benefit. Not 100% sure on this one but I thought a deliberate handball to stop a shot constituted a red card as well?

I’m sure Cooper must have something on refs, from the Swansea days where they got a soft penalty every week, to the playoff final last season, to today

Nope, it's a deliberate handball to prevent a goal that's a straight red. The keeper was directly behind him so no way can it be a definite goal being prevented as it would have hit the keeper. Also not sure it's deliberate - he just threw himself in the way, rather than deliberately played it with his arm.

The new interpretations of handball with VAR have completely twisted the old rulings of it's only handball if it's deliberate.

A spurs without conte would have lost that. It seems different this time round less spursy think they might win something.

Congratulations on celebrating like you won the champions league for getting a draw at Chelsea Spurs.

Tuchel is a bit of a bell though, might need to put them both in a cage for the return, don`t particularly like Conte because he gets a little OTT with his goal celebrations, but you expect that with Italians

Might be time to pension him off after this season. Get Tyldesley in.

Any club, and I mean any one, would go nuts with a 96th minute equaliser in a big rivalry. Come on.

So VAR allows players to throw someone to the floor by their hair but doesn’t allow a collision between two players….this is the sort of inconsistencies which drive people mad
Set a general standard or just get rid of it - it’s all still down to interpretation still, makes it all rather pointless IMO

They won’t

Credit to staying in the game but they were woeful pretty much from minute 1 to minute 90. Liverpool and City will dominate domestic competitions again

Really unlikeable team are Spurs now, a manager that goes OTT every time they score, how many other bosses do that? sign a perennial diver from Everton to go with the other couple they have.
Then there`s Romeo, pulling the hair of a defender at a corner and then screaming in the face of Reece James when he deflects the ball into his own net.
They were made or each other.

Yeah. This. A million times. Christ, we'd go nuts at Reading if we equalised against Luton in the last minute.

Fans telling other fans how they're allowed to celebrate when a goal scored is something that really winds me up.

Happened a few times to us last season, apparently we weren't allowed to celebrate a late equaliser at Barnsley because we had been shit all game.

Also thought the same regarding Tyler - almost like he was gutted they scored.

Drury is class. Good levels of excitement and knows when to not speak and let the images to the talking.

Actually I was referring to after the final whistle not when the goal was scored. not the whole team just a couple of players giving it big in front of the away support.

What did you expect them to do after scoring about 30s prior to snatching a draw? Have the fans going crazy but the players just casually applauding the fans and then walking off?

It shows fans & players are connected.

And? Excited and relieved to get the draw, giving a bit back to the fans?

Anyway, setting aside all the pathetic celebrations and shenanigans, I thought Chelsea looked really good.

Need a striker badly, but don't think Aubameyang is the answer though.
