great news for Scott, hope he does well, he’s had his (well documented) issuesSutekh wrote:Scott Davies (now aged 34) has been confirmed as Slough’s new manager with Lee Togwell his assistant.
What were the odds of that happening?AthleticoSpizz wrote:great news for Scott, hope he does well, he’s had his (well documented) issuesSutekh wrote:Scott Davies (now aged 34) has been confirmed as Slough’s new manager with Lee Togwell his assistant.

Pity they got the number of goal free games wrong.Sutekh wrote:From a bit of a while ago I know (late 2013), but does give some pointers on what became of the members of the Reading 78/79 4th division (now L2) championship winning squad. Surprised there isn’t more “trumpeting” of their achievement that season given they beat the then record for not conceding a league goal.

He hasn't spent 12 months in a job since 2017-18, before he joined us, which I just find bizarre. He got sacked by UD Almeria, despite having a very good season, for rotating too much and apparently was given a standing ovation by the players after his dismissal speech.Sutekh wrote:Jose Gomes reappointed to take charge of struggling Maritimo in Portugal. His 5th club since exiting Reading 3 years ago, and his 18th club in 19 years (19 years that includes a 5 year period as assistant manager to Jesualdo Ferreira).
I was applauding as well when he was sacked by us. Wonder if they were applauding the clubs decision as well.YorkshireRoyal99 wrote:He hasn't spent 12 months in a job since 2017-18, before he joined us, which I just find bizarre. One for the rumours really....but Get Reading flagged up a possible return. I bloody hope not, it seems he couldn't cut it out there and after his celebrations in front of Reading fans last season after QPRs late equaliser he can f*ck right off.Sutekh wrote:Charlie Austin has mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Brisbane Roar to return home for family reasons. Wonder if Reading will look at resurrecting talks with him if Andy Carroll moves on in January though AC has said he is willing to re-sign if offered an extension by the club according to the EP.
Meanwhile free agent Leandro Bacuna has signed for Watford for the rest of the season.
