Went to Ash v New Milton, and got treated to nine goals, with New Milton clinching a 5-4 win with a last-minute goal.

Ash were 2-0 up after about 5 minutes, and lead 4-3 early in the 2nd half, after going 2-3 down, but they couldn't hold out.

Entertainment was also provided by one Ash supporter who sang throughout the whole game, with some 'unique' chants, put to tunes that seem to only exist in his own head.

... sounds like they pushed the leaders very close - the noisy 'Ultra' you describe could possibly be the unheralded return of 'Chas' - whose made himself a thorough (if harmless) nuisance to all and sundry home and away for yonks - and suffered repeated bans from the club ! :lol:
- I've not actually noticed him at Youngs Drive for ages
- I did watch him in 'full-flowing' action once - on a very dark and damp midweek game up at Colliers Wood - well over ten or more years ago.
- he spent the entire first half hugging the far touchline, keeping stride for stride with the lino - giving him non-stop 'gip' - until someone from within the visiting Ash officials, went over and had a quiet word.... :mrgreen:

Banbury United 3-0 Chorley Utd move back up to 7th
Blyth Spartans 1-1 Brackley Town ‘Saints’ hang on to top spot as ‘Darlo’ won @ Hereford to go above KL who were in Cup action

Am heading to Brackley on Saturday for the first time this season.

Luckily my good lady spotted kick off was 12.30.

Hadn't realised the National league had changed all starts to avoid World Cup clash.

"The League hope that both England and Wales progress in the World Cup past the group stages. However, there is a potential fixture clash for the Last 16 involving the runners-up of Group B, (England and Wales’ group), kicking off at 3pm on Saturday 3rd December. There is a full fixture programme planned for this time.

"To avoid any possibility of a clash the League are moving all kick off times forward to 12:30pm on this date."

Apologies if this is widely known

Plenty of changes being made to kick off times and days I think, eg. Bracknell v Swindon Supermarine is now Friday night (2 December) as are a few games in NLN and NLS plus a good few league games in divisions 3 and 4 (l1/l2).

Expect there could be more changes made next week over next weekend’s matches (10 December) because of wanting to give travelling support the best chance to see England’s QF v France (presuming neither side cocks up their round of 16 game).

And while talking of fixtures I note that next Tuesday is the big one with Ascot United (11 wins in a row and Jamie Ashdown in goal) due to visit Reading City (16 games unbeaten and unbeaten in the league) in the CCLPN. Ascot are currently top of the table by one point from Reading City, both having played 14 games.

.... would expect there could be quite a crowd for next Tuesday night's table-top clash down at Rivermoor (fka Scours)
...unheard of for many a year but there have been some minor issues with parking - the IBIS clubs as an overflow isn't a bad option but even that isn't huge.
Will only be swelled to a significant number by 'casuals' as neither club really has that big a following - midweek.
...and maybe they'll have some stewarding to sort any excess visitors if needs be - plenty of open spaces available in the area.

- recently the area/field to the left of the ground - has been 'off limits' cos of the 'strong women' or whoever they were, doing the extreme sports training stuff just outside the ground on matchdays! :?
...but probably stopped for the later (colder) months ?
...there's only limited off-road stuff back the other side of the railway arch and the Industrial Units off either side of the lane, down from the A329 are controlled now I think?

Is more or less 'the only game in town' for next midweek - tho' Sluff play Concord; Winch are due to welcome league high flyers W-s-M ; Bracknell host Parkway and there are a few other CCL games about that night too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For this w/e I've tried to re-check the latest round of KO changes .... and this is what it looks like currently:
- will amend any more if I notice them -
There's an outside chance I may even have wheels available again - as our bigger car may be back from the menders! :mrgreen:
...so might pick an early one close by and scoot back in time for the 'Oranjes vs the Septics' in the WC 8)
Great documentary below on the questionable distribution by the national league of the gate money pot they got from the lottery for its clubs suffering in the covid lockdowns.
Round-up of yesterday's NL
Saturday 3rd December
FA Vase
20 Harefield United 2-1 North Greenford United
21 Jersey Bulls 5-1 Athletic Newham att 464
23 Larkfield & New Hythe 1-2 Raynes Park Vale
24 Eastbourne Town 0-1 Egham Town
25 Holyport 0-0 Peacehaven & Telscombe 2-3p
26 Ascot United 4-0 Little Common
31 Royal Wootton Bassett Town 0-0 Corsham Town 3-4p
NAT
Eastleigh 1-0 Boreham Wood
Gateshead 0-2 Aldershot Town
- decent win for Sh!ts’ over strugglers – puts some clear daylight (8 pts) back to the bottom four: indeed only Torquay in the bottom 5 got points with a 1-0 win at D&R.
- Yeovil’s long trip up to Bromley ended after only 10’ of action following a medical emergency in the crowd.
Maidenhead United 1-1 Dorking Wanderers -att 1,042
- trundled up the A4 for this one (M4 was shut both ways beyond 9/10 to 5/6 I think – so I thought I’d best avoid it altogether?)
– usual frustrating trawl out/across ‘ding itself with a ring of roadworks and temp lights straddling the East and South of the town.
– made late decision not to ‘sofa it’ for the morning and my mate was happy to join me for the 12:30 KO. He was a bit taken aback by the (£20) entrance fee - as was I, by the much increased parking charges since my last visit – expect that’s cos my only recent trips up here of a daytime, have been for B/H matches - when the car parks are often free.
- sadly the game was a stale rather typical ‘mid-table upper-pyramid’ fare with both sides cancelling each other out.
- Moments of note were few and far between – ‘Magpies’ hit the woodwork a couple of times and Seager (ex-Hungerford) having grabbed a shock early lead for DW, couldn’t repeat his feat a few moments later.
- rather fizzled to a chilly conclusion – after Clerima had powered in a header from a set-piece to level on 60’ –
- I left my mate for his customary ‘tour of the town', having ascertained the trains were all running fine (there had been ‘issues’ earlier on in the day on this route)
Woking 3-1 Maidstone United ‘Cards’ sitting well-placed in 3rd
NATN
AFC Telford United 2-1 Banbury United
Brackley Town 2-1 Spennymoor Town
NATS
Ebbsfleet United 2-0 Slough Town ’Rebels’ beaten at leaders
Farnborough 2-2 Hampton & Richmond Borough
Hungerford Town 0-1 Tonbridge Angels
Oxford City 2-2 Dulwich Hamlet
SLP-C
Kings Langley 0-1 St Ives Town
SLP-S
Dorchester Town 1-3 Chesham United
Hanwell Town 1-0 Plymouth Parkway
Hayes & Yeading United 4-0 Winchester City
Merthyr Town 3-2 Beaconsfield Town
North Leigh 0-4 Poole Town
Weston-super-Mare 4-0 Hartley Wintney
- No real changes at the top or bottom here- top four all won – Bracknell’s win on Friday had them up in 5th but Salisbury retook that spot - albeit they were held 3-3 by lowly Hendon – ‘Robins’ do have plenty of games in hand after their cup exploits.
SL1-C
Aylesbury United 1-0 Harlow Town
Didcot Town 2-1 Hertford Town
FC Romania 0-1 Kidlington
Hadley 5-3 Highworth Town
Ware 1-1 Thame United
IL1-SC
Basingstoke Town {EIGHT} 8-0 Guernsey att 406 - goal glut at Winklebury: two for James Clark, one for Cook & Peart and an og - before Bradley Wilson got a late hat-trick. ‘Dragons’ up to 3rd.
Bedfont Sports 0-0 Hanworth Villa
Chipstead 1-1 Binfield
Leatherhead 1-1 Tooting & Mitcham United
Merstham 1-1 Chertsey Town
Northwood 0-2 South Park
Southall 3-2 Walton & Hersham
Sutton Common Rovers 0-2 Westfield
Thatcham Town
1-0 Ashford Town (Middx) Thatcham haul themselves out of the bottom four
Uxbridge 0-1 Marlow ‘Blues’ closing on recently much faltering leaders ‘wood’ – who’ve lost 3 in 6 now – win here thanks to a very early goal from Raggett
CCL-PN
Broadfields United 1-0 Flackwell Heath
Edgware & Kingsbury 4-1 Wembley
Oxhey Jets 1-2 Windsor
Reading City
1-0 Chalfont St Peter att 144 – ‘City’ grab top spot with Ascot engaged in Vase action – goal on 51’ from D’Cruz
Royals and Racers Ascot Utd drawn away to Buckland Ath( Newton Abbott) in FA Vase 4th round
...ouch some trip .... as have RPV away to Brixham - Egham got a home tie vs Peacehaven and the 'mighty Romford' cross the water to Jersey Bulls.
Ties due w/e 14th Jan -might have considered a wintry trek down to the far west for one of the above but we're due to host the 'Fakies' that Sat PM - unless some work-experience t£&t at Sky decides that needs to be the 'live' game again? :roll:
Clash of the round in the southern half probably holders NPT v Leighton - can see that one drawing a big crowd.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... and the SL Premier fixture originally scheduled for this Tue night - Winchester v W-s-M - has 'disappeared' and been replaced by a Friendly for City at home to AFC Bournemouth Academy - KO 19:30?
Would appear Weston are now engaged in a County Cup tie that evening?
