Snowflake Royal What's our record like in one off winner takes all matches?

Oh dear.

Off the top of my head
We all know our play-off form.
Won in the Simod Cup final
Got the needed draw vs Brentford to earn promotion
Won the promotion chase with Southampton and West Ham but there wasn't final day drama
Smashed Derby but Fulham won in 07/08, so relegation
Lost to Birmingham in 08/09
Finished 7th on the final day 13/14

So yeah, not great.

You could very reasonably argue a lot of that isn’t relevant to the current team.

But then you fall back on our cup record, which in recent years is diabolical. And then you look at must win games like Hull, Bristol, Birmingham, Preston and Coventry and you go 'oh well, L1 it is'.

Don't think it's a lot better where Reading have actually got their bit right in a final game only to find other results have gone against them e.g. beating Wrexham back in 1983

Yes Exeter ( I think) kicked off 15 minutes later then us- the days of the 3.15 ko- they were losing when our game finished , everybody stayed inside the ground waiting for the final result, then it came over the tannoy that they had equalised, you could have heard a pin drop, i walked back home across prospect park in a daze, I think it was my first relegation.
This won`t be many of the todays youngsters first but it will be to the third tier should it happen.

Shown more intent in 20 minutes than we have in 5 games.
F*cking pains me that Warnock was available and we end up with one dimensional failures as managers. Survival was the aim and we failed miserably.

Pretty dire after a good Hudds start.

Defs take 0-0 out of this.

Huddersfield winning 1-0 is not a disaster for us as long as they lose to Shef Utd during the week.

I was hoping for a double loss for Huddersfield, I can see us getting a draw on the final day but a win seems like so much more of a long shot

Just got to hope that Middlesbrough and/or Sheffield United do the expected now and beat both sides.

Watching the game though, how bad must we (and everyone below) have been that Cardiff have stayed up, they look so poor. Granted they have nothing to play for but that doesn't really matter, their general play is poor.

I doubt they threw it. They are just a poor team who didn't really care, playing a team giving their all.

Let's face it, it's over. I hate teams that can be promoted and relegated without even kicking a ball

So we need Rotherham to lose tomorrow and Huddersfield to lose to Sheffield United to have any chance of staying up on Monday week.
