Silver Fox Surely the main defence is that the punishment should be made in a timely manner and giving us a points deduction for something that was widely known about last season now is unjust

Don't think that will wash seeing as I think it's the third instance, which was recent, which has triggered the action.

The last occasion was after the disgracefully late announcement of deduction of points at the start of April?

That deduction would have been earlier if we didn't try and argue it despite making no effort to meet our commitments.

I reckon we will be hit with a suspended 4pt deduction as we can argue that is the precedent set with Wigan. Whether that would also see the embargo fully lifted, I don't know. I suspect we may still have some restrictions, on transfer spending, possibly linked to transfer income.

If the EFL offered that straight off the bat, I'd bite their hand off to take it.

We had made an effort to meet our commitments, and had received some sort of notice from the EFL that we were following the business plan. The independent panel disagreed and said that the asset we had disposed of following our failure to sell players was unacceptable.

I’m just glad the players are off on a holiday together while the future of the club hangs in the balance.

It's not so bad. Much of the squad can go for children's prices, while the rest can probably fit in two rooms.

That's hardly fair. Most of the players we were trying to sell were unacceptable too.

Not 100% sure what them being in Spain has anything to do with that.

What else could they do being in UK if the future of the club hangs in the balance?*

*It doesn’t really hang in the balance, right now, does it?

Non-payment of loan wages - Gone, gone gone.

https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/embargoes/

Tax still there, as is the P&S breach but a positive step and shows things are happening behind the scenes.

Why is the P&S breach still there, I thought we had been punished for that already?

We did agree on a new budget with the CFRU when we had 6 points deducted last season. No clue on timeframes though, so that looks as if it's still ongoing. It would be nice to know when we are expected to hear anything on that front i.e. how long do we have an agreed budget for.

When we shouted Fold the Club after losing 1-0 to Wycombe, I didn't expect them to actually do it.

Seeing some people suggest that once the HMRC issue is fully resolved (and some seem to think it has been paid already) then once the HMRC charge drops off the P&S will too.

Isn't the HMRC breach to do with non-reporting to the EFL rather than non-payment?

In which case it depends on whether we admitted the breach or are contesting it.

Bloody hell, we're not in an embargo. Well, if we can get that HMRC one gone too.

Yeah I saw that and it’s my understanding HMRC were paid on 23 June.

A couple of people on Twitter are suggesting that the blackout is due to a possible takeover. Probably unlikely but feasible. 2 or 3 weeks ago there were tweets suggesting Ashley had been seen at the stadium but I’d take that with a pinch of salt.

Great, we can all look forward to the over the top signings of some misfits or other in the coming weeks so the club can start this palava all over again.
