Robbie was positive about the facilities and the people he'd met at the club

https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/spor ... fc-future/

With him airing his feelings on 606 it might well help raise the profile of the problems (and possibly might have more effect than anything SBWD could do).

No half-time entertainment!

Apparently the pitch has got gray leaf spot again, meaning access to the playing surface will be limited to players and referees only.

And groundsmen (mind you if they're anything like the medical team it's probably wise to omit them from those permitted to access the pitch).

Clearly, updates on the playing surface. FFS. Talk about the art of deflection. This lot are masters at it.

One positive perhaps?
Are we, now being in League 1, unlikely to have games cancelled due to International breaks unless of course we end up with internationally selected players on the books.?

Be more likely it's our opponents who have the international players.

Depending on your view on him, Rueben Selles being confirmed as appearing for a Q&A at the Turtle event tomorrow night has to be viewed as a positive.

Any Leader worth their salt would be using this situation (outside of the playing staff's control) to build up a siege mentality - 'let's prove that we can play and win football matches'

If this isn't the mindset and the approach, then I'd be concerned

Gives unheralded younger players a chance to show what they can do at a higher level than if all was hunky dory...

Lady luck has to turn at some point soon - we can't still be paying for that last Championship win and promotion to the premier League...

Yes for all the negativity there are capable players there. The likes of Carroll, Holmes, Mbengue, Wing, Savage, Knibbs, Smith when fit, Yiadom should be amongst the better players in the div

The younger players like Craig, Ehib and Senga will have more chance of succeeding in this division than the champ. They shouldn’t be intimidated and I’d expect them to cope fairly comfortably

It’s the mentality that worries me. Feel angry, frustrated at the club and it will affect performances. If Selles can turn it round to that siege mentality and proving they are good enough for the level then I don’t think we’ll be in any trouble

This tax bill thing - Dai has obviously said it’ll be paid imminently- do worry if this drags on it’ll really hit morale

This is what I don't like about saying we want 10 more players.

We had this shit with Ince constantly. The players aren't good enough.

No!

"Obviously we're always looking to strengthen more and there's a few players I'd like to bring in to give more depth and quality to certain positions, but we are where we are. We have a good group of experienced professionals and a lot of quality academy players looking to graduate into the first team, and this situation gives them a betger chance to impress than they maybe otherwise would have got. Which is great for them. If the players take a positive attitude into games and work hard, we can compete well at this level. We'd like to be pushing to win the league, but we recognise its a tough one, and that is probably out of reach right now, but I'm confident this group can do well."

I've long advocated for burning the stadium down and claiming the insurance.

Things are so shambolic right now, even the most mediocre of news seems like a massive win. 8)

Yeah basically agree with that. Constant talking down is no good. There is no reason any of those u23 that have featured can’t play in this div and do quite well

I reckon Carson will have a good season if given minutes on the pitch. Also, I think Craig is easily good enough for League One.

That is pretty much the point of a competition. Competing.
