I think it might be Billy Clarke who was released by Norwich. I didn’t go as I am currently in Taunton ready for later.

I heard someone called Maragh looks a very good prospect. Can anyone back this up?

If we don’t sign Wareham soon someone else will. I think he’s ready for the first team tbh. He’s very strong on the ball and he’s got the pace to get in behind.

He's well worth signing but consider that he went on loan to L2 last season, played 5 league games scoring 0 goals.

He barely got a look in tbf as Orient flew out of the traps. Only got 186 mins then went back to Chelsea. Local and definitely got something about him. Deal must be close.

Guess that was 12 months ago as well - can make a big difference at his age

Bear in mind that the venue details in the write up and the venue details in the list do not match up... Some games to be played in Aldershot

This one maybe more accurate as it has the EBB Stadium in Aldershot listed for some fixtures

Not sure...

Four fixtures will be played at Aldershot's EBB Stadium, where our Academy last played in the 2016-17 season. First up in Aldershot will be Blackburn Rovers on Monday 30 October, with matches against Middlesborough, Leicester City and Norwich City also taking place there later in the season.

Both lists show this fixture at Bearwood

The cup fixtures look to be shown correctly

Maragh was a trailist in early 2023 and signed few weeks later- plays left hand side full back/ wing back. Steady player i would say.

I watched the highlights of the U21's 2-0 win v Crystal Palace; very impressed by some of the play - really encouraging.

There was no indication as to who the players were, so all I can do is say that one of our forwards, the #11 was very, very quick and a real handful for the Palace defence.

Anyone know who that might have been?

Tuma. And yes he looks bloody good on those highlights

Don’t want to get carried away but do seem to have picked up some good youngsters recently, him being one. The scouting at the youth age group seems to be functioning

Yes and I thought U21's may struggle with so many fast tracked to the first team.

Things looking good...I guess it helps the players can see if they do well they will be considered for the first team, unlike last season.

Busy weekend ahead for the Academy. First up the U 18’s travel to Carrington to play Man Utd on Saturday 2nd KO 11am. This is a PL U 18 league cup tie and we are in Group F and we also play in our group Southampton(H) and Wolves (A). There are 7 groups of 4- the 26 PL 2 clubs plus Barnsley and Peterborough from the PDL
On Sunday 3rd the U 21’s travel to Boreham Wood to play Arsenal in a PL 2 fixture KO 12 noon. It will be a good test for the youngsters to see if they can retain their 100% record.

Seems the doomsayers who were not so long ago saying the Academy was a disaster and anyone good was leaving may not have had as much of a clue as.they thought.

Tbf have heard myself that there were serious issues with the younger age groups that are hopefully being/have been sorted

There was clearly some talent in the u23 last season and glad they are now getting their chance and showing it
