As you may have noticed, the forum experienced an 18-hour outage Thursday. And an 40 hour outage over the weekend. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've faced such disruptions; in fact, they occur quite frequently these days. To mitigate the impact of these incidents, I created a backup forum last year - The Biscuit Tin - for situations just like this, and ensuring we have a safety net in case we ever lose our primary platform permanently.

I encourage you to bookmark the following page and sign up: The Biscuit Tin. While it may not offer an identical experience, I have worked hard to replicate the look and feel of our current forum. The Biscuit Tin includes several useful features that are not present on here. Such as direct linking of Twitter articles into threads, video embedding, more emoji options, and a mobile app for enhanced browsing on the go.

I have dedicated many hours of my personal time to ensure The Biscuit Tin is stable, functional and user-friendly, all in the interest of preserving our community for the future.

Please note that this platform is completely free to use, and I do not receive any ad revenue. My sole intention in creating this backup is to provide a reliable fallback option without any hidden agendas. Currently, we have 60 registered users, and over 1000 unique visitors accessed the forum during the recent downtimes. It was yes. Which is a shame considering over 1000 unique users visited the site over the weekend, but hardly anyone registered or bothered to post. Oh well you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. People are obviously not that bothered. Anyway I’ve put the forum behind the log in screen now, so you can’t view it unless you’re registered. Which might encourage people to actually join and engage. But meh, it’s up to you lot to make it something to go to if this place isn’t around. I’ve done what I can.

Is there a preferred browser for the site or should it be able to cope with whatever? I usually run the latest Safari.
