Mr Angry From a branding point of view, that makes sense really; Bristol Street Motors Trophy made it sound like a single physical garage was sponsoring a 5 a side tournament at a local leisure centre.

I dunno, Bristol Street Motors has been going for well over a century, plenty of nostalgia and equity in that name. Be amazed if anyone will be able to tell you what Vertu flogged in a hundred years time.

League Cup is the Milk Cup. End of.

No idea what a Ventu is and would also agree with Mr Angry’s original observation about the BSM sponsorship.

According to Dellor (in commentary from Cheltenham), it's the same competition as the Simod Cup. So lots of name changes must really confuse him.

I just call it the League Cup. I couldn't even tell you who sponsors it.

If we get beyond the next round and fans start taking an interest in this competition.
Are they genuine fans or just Vertu signalling?

Probably would have meant the death of the club 12 months ago….
I’m not in favour of saddling grounds with product names but given that the lads from SCL have several times stepped in with extra funding to keep us going (which AFAIK was not a loan and not a deposit on buying the club) I’m quite happy for their company name to be associated with the ground.
Agree with competitions, no idea who currently sponsors most of them.

They're welcome to sponsor and stick their name on it, but it doesn't mean I'm going to call it something different.

I still think of it as the Coca-Cola cup, although I'll usually refer to it as the league cup so other people know what I'm on about. But it's been so long, I don't actually know if it's even the same competition any more.

 Dellor really is a clueless twonk! Reading won the Full Members Cup when it was sponsored by Simod. The Full Members Cup was created in the mid 80s, together with the Associate Members Cup, think it was to give more revenue to lower clubs and try and give some more fixtures to clubs not allowed to play in Europe (not that any of those clubs ever entered it anyway  ) and the Associate Members to give lower division clubs a chance of playing at Wobbly. The Full Members Cup was dumped at some point in the 90s leaving just the Associate Members Cup which is now known as the Vertu Trophy..

Agreed and it's the first time we've played there since late 2003 - so we may have a decent following.

Feel we would have topped the group but our team selection hand was kind of tied against Cheltenham so to get one of the League Two sides in the round of 32 is probably a bonus.

Cheltenham drew Cambridge at home. I think it's worked out well for us in the end.

The full draw for those who are interested was:

Northern section
Morecambe v Lincoln City
Wrexham v Crewe Alexandra
Stockport County v Bradford City
Bolton Wanderers v Huddersfield Town
Rotherham United v Tranmere Rovers
Blackpool v Aston Villa U21
Chesterfield v Wigan Athletic
Doncaster Rovers v Port Vale

Southern section
Wycombe Wanderers v Swindon Town
Peterborough United v Northampton Town
Charlton Athletic v Leyton Orient
Walsall v Reading
Cheltenham Town v Cambridge United
Colchester United v AFC Wimbledon
Burton Albion v Stevenage
Exeter City v Birmingham City

EDIT: Fixed incorrect Burton vs Wigan fixture with correct Burton vs Stevenage fixture.

Has there been a mis-draw, might they have to do it again but properly?
