Not sure a player would go for a medical if clubs haven’t agreed a deal….

There was a photo of someone in Hudds on Twitter the other day and their fans were saying it was Sam Smith, it wasn't.

Thanks. Never sure when people say they’re local journalists.

The medical before a deal agreed was a dead giveaway it was bullshit. Never happening that way round.

Impressive turn of speed from Smith to get all the way back down the M1 in time to play today.
Suspect he’ll have been told to take it easy, a hamstring ping could be costly. Let’s hope Hudds have to buy him even if he breaks a leg today.
Or perhaps he was just never going to Huddersfield….

Royal_jimmy Why'd he go to Huddersfield

Money.
Stability.
Knowing he'll be paid on time.
More chance of a promotion sticking than us without a change of ownership.

He’s a northerner so would probably feel at home

He’s from Lancashire (least Manchester was always in Lancashire before they started inventing those stupid urban conglomerations up there). So probably not overly keen on feeling at home in Yorkshire.

It’s all north, can’t be that different.
It’s not like he’s a Whitley boy making the move to Coley.

People need to stop with this "why would they move to X?" nonsense. We're an absolute shit show, basket case, whatever you want to call us. Any decent alternative is appealing.

I know there's a bit more to it than that. We have a lot of potential both on and off the pitch, and there's a feeling that if players can just hold out they could really be part of something big here and become a legend for sticking it out. But we've all been holding out for 18 months, and who truly believes we're on the cusp of that moment arriving?

I can completely see why Smith would go to Huddersfield, or Knibbs go to Portsmouth (for example) even if they look likely to be back in L1 next season.

It's just jimmy being jimmy. Such a huge chip on his shoulder about other clubs being 'tinpot'

Isn't Sam one of our own? From our Youth set up?

He was desperate to come back. He won't be going anywhere.

He, Harvey and Lewis were lied to about the state and future of the club when they signed, really can't blame any of them for leaving for more stability.

That depends how far down the management chain the true information went. My guess is that it stopped somewhere in the Dai/Pang area..

So i guess its being reported that a couple of significant barricades towards the sale of the club have been lifted so something must be going on behind the scenes whoever that may be. I would also like to thing that if things are progressing that the said party would be communicating to the players as surly it would be in their benefit to keep this team together and not inherit a team that's just been cherry picked and will plummet down the table.

I fear they will have heard these fairy tales too many times before to be duped again.
