Mid Sussex Royal Its become more and more apparent that the deal in Sept fell through solely as Dai (or those close to him) thought late in the day he could get more money.
Given the EFL deadline this time though if Dai doesn't sign he loses out significantly so I'm a lot more optimistic than I was re Platek and co.
All agree?

leonbcubed Am expecting Leon to pop up soon and complain about unnecessary chat about hotel...
my finger was poised but I decided to leave the simpletons to it....![]()
besides some of those numbers were whack, clearly no one had ever claimed expenses....

Greatwesternlinerabidbee I presume GWL was doing the marathon for fun*, not for work. This is akin to paying out of your own pocket to stay somewhere ahead of a routine meeting or presentation, not sure how many people think they should pick up the tab for things done in the name of their job, no matter how well paid. Although perhaps GWL could try to persuade MPs that they could pay themselves for those fact-finding trips to the Caribbean/Mauritius…
I understand the principle of not paying for your own work related costs. But if you earn a salary of 250k on a fixed term contract which is highly dependent on your real world performance, you might consider paying for accommodation if it helps improve your chances of securing a better contract when it comes up for renewal. They don't mind giving an agent 10% of their wages, so the concept of investing in their own future isn't alien to them.
You've probably heard that several PL footballers employ their own fitness coaches and dieticians.
Your work related example to me is relevant, we are offered a flight for a trip that is the cheapest option, but people often opt to buy their own if it's at a more convenient time or they want a better airline or flight class...

I think so
Yet again Dai’s advisors showing their incompetence

I do think it's been a shitshow due to incompetence, and not Dai being a nihilist who would rather watch us burn to the ground. Hopefully now he only has one viable option, there's not many ways he can fcuk it up again.

Linden Jones' Tash The lack of competence is in the way in which he spent the £200M in our championship years - who he hired and trusted etc....
He didn't buy RFC because of a love of football but to try and impress the CCP who signalled that football was going to be their soft power play.
When they lost interest, RFC became an inconvenience.
The Evergrande crash and associated collateral damage on DY's interests means that RFC is a drop in the ocean compared to the other issues floating around....
As others have indicated, a £25M asset when the liabilities are in the Billions is neither here nor there....
Having said that, thoughts and prayers this end game will end up with a functioning football club comewhatMay...

rabidbee Pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if the fact that we are a sizeable (and saleable) asset outside China. He's evidently looking for a good sum up front, maybe he hopes to stash it somewhere safe beyond the grasp of the CCP?

There are unsubstantiated rumours he's in the UK. Nice little nest egg for him to live off beyond the CCP's reach if so.
