WestYorksRoyal I do think commentators and pundits go in too easy on the women's game if we really want to hold it to equal standards comparable to men.
That Stanway shot was a good effort, but there is now way it should go in. But the analysis seems to be letting the GK off scott free.

That's a little harsh, the GK was completely unsighted, but to take your point I think the comms are a bit too...er.....over-enthusiastic about an improved England.
Don't judge me but I'm looking for a Lauren James foul in the second half to complete a ££££ four-fold

I think you're harsh on the over enthusiastic point. We've been brilliant. The Netherlands are clearly not as good as France, but we've been a totally transformed team.

Sutekh That’s them through then, who will they get in the knockout round?

The top two from this group play the top two from the Germany / Sweden group C.
Assuming France win group D, England play the group C winners - at the moment that's Sweden, and France would play Germany.
But Sweden play Germany on Saturday evening, so it may change around.

The Wales' goalkeeper made a fantastic save v England last night; similar to the one the PSG keeper made to keep out Delap in the World Club Cup Final at almost exactly the same time....

Dirk Gently Absolutely not dissing women's football, but one of the biggest differences I've noticed is that women don't seem to be able to clear the ball as effectively and as far as the men do. So that when a team is under pressure and wins possession they often fail to reach the half-way line, and freqently just give the ball back to the attacking team.
It's a sign of the better teams that they are more able to turn defence into attack than the lesser teams.
