JedMaxwell When was the last time we loaned a player out, who wasn't a 17 year old 'keeper going into non-league?

Off the top of my head, this is actually the first time #ReadingFC have loaned out an academy outfielder for a full season since... Aug 2022, when Jeriel Dorsett went to Kilmarnock

Before that? Dorsett to Rochdale in 2021

First one *not* named Dorsett since Tom Holmes to KSV Roeselare in Sep 2019.

Good to keep fleshing out the squad.
Hopefully a couple of decent attackers still to join.

Whore Jackie Abraham Kanu going on season-long loan at Forest Green Rovers.

Good move for him but leaves us short of cover at CB and so I assume we are going to add at least one more experienced player there.

Royal Monkey Is Bowler gonna be announced today?
Announced on here 2 days ago it was a done deal.

Anyone ITK about the Morell and/or Amankwah situations? Have they been binned or are the club negotiating?

I asked similar a couple of days ago but didn't get a reply so guess nobody on here knows.

There's been no mention of them recently on Twitter and I don't think they played against Slough. They didn't feature v Spurs either but I thought somebody said Morrell went on the trip to Ireland.

I think Liam Fraser who has been recently linked plays the same position as Morrell. Would Morrell pass a medical and/or be will to take any offer Reading is likely to produce?

On the flip side I don't think either has been linked with other teams...

Noel says we currently have no trialists

Doubt he'd have made the bench for league games. Stickland, Dorsett and realistically Yids ahead of him for cover. It's just the sort of move and experience our Academy players on the fringes of the first team should be getting IMO.

Liam Fraser our new Canadian signing from yesterday can also play CB if needed as well as his main position as a DM. So we probably should be ok in this area for now.

Good move for Kanu, though he’ll have to wear those horrible kits they’ve created

Dorsett as CB cover? Reckon we’re quite well stocked at LB. Maybe Clarke if he actually intends to playing football again

Just to say that although he is a young player Kanu played 16 times for the first team last season.

Just seen even your mate Earnshaw reporting this from the presser

As usual the Twitter bellends claiming our he’s been holding out for a better offer. I did get to chat to Kelvin for a minute at the open day thing (seems a nice chap btw. Even taller than he looks on the pitch ) and I wouldn’t question Hunts comments at all - they were both saying he was definitely staying then.

Probably because all our Academy outfielders age 16+ have been either in the first team or within a hamstring tweak of the first team

Wikipedia suggests Holzman, Senga and Clarke all went on loans in 23-24.

Kelvin signs. Appears the Club don't want to tell us how long for.

Cool.

That's 2 out of 3 (Joel, Kelvin - Amadou) staying...

Fingers crossed we get some more firepower also...

John Clarke does indeed intend to play football again, still recovering from his operation but hopes to be back by Christmas (spoke to him at Bearwood)

I want to know where Rushesha has disappeared to

Don't think it does really.

He's not really featured there in preseason much, which suggests he isn’t close.

We've got O'Connor, Burns, Stickland, Dorsett, Yiadom, Clarke and maybe Jacobs who can all play there.

We were already taking a look at that trialist, so I don't think Kanu going on loan changes the equation at all.

No one has detailed how long WiFi’s deal is for

Morell released as “not what we need right now”.

Abraham Kanu has joined FGR on loan for the season.
