Really need to go on and win this convincingly, given how much the squad has been strengthened.

How many subs are we allowed on the bench at this level? It looks like we named five.

Royals and Racers 3-1 57 mins Whitburn
4-1 90 + 3 Hayes

Same result as last season, should that be a concern?

I wouldn't have thought so. Sometimes it's quite hard, no matter how poor the opposition, to kick on beyond 4. Will be interesting to hear the views of those that were there though.

RoyalBlue How many subs are we allowed on the bench at this level? It looks like we named five.

Allowed 5 substitutes, but unlimited substitutions - "A Player who has been substituted becomes a substitute and may replace a Player at any time".

Goes up to 7 substitutes (but only 5 substitutions) at Tier 3, so no concern any time soon.

Thanks. I actually think we have a large enough squad and sufficient fully committed players now to cope with 7 substitutes.

I hate the roll on, roll off sub rule. I'm not sure why it exists. IMO at that level the majority of players ought to be fit enough to last 90 minutes if required.

They do the same in US College Football (soccer) but their season is much more compressed with players expected to play two or sometimes three games a week every single week. And even over there they are tightening up on the rules to limit the number of times a player can go off and come back again.
