windermereROYAL When they choose Port Vale over us you have to think he prefers life up north.

This is such an arrogant, stuck up mindless thing to say

Not a bad area around Stoke and Port Vale - however, not sure I would want to live there

It doesn’t make it right but I think much of this thinking comes from the past.

We all know and remember the 106 year, the opening of the Madejski Stadium, regular playoff finishes with two finals, finishing 8th in the premier league, being a premier league club etc and then think of the clubs around us nowadays and look down on them.

The sad reality of life now is we are a bang average league one club just like those around us.

It's stunning around Stoke but wouldn't ever want to live there, Newcastle is improving but some of the villages around there would be a very decent place to live. He was born in Alderley Edge though, so wouldn't surprise me if he is settled around that way or towards Manchester.

I think Ian's suggesting it's arrogant to assume that when a player chooses Vale over us, there must be a non-footballing reason to explain it. Perhaps he just chose Vale over us (assuming we were ever really seriously in for him).
