- trawled round the M25 to Meadowbank on Tue evening, for the FAC 3Q replay vs Salisbury (4-2)
- comfortable win for the 'Wanderers' against a side nr the bottom of this division.
- big crowd but no attendance figures published that I've found yet :| comfortably above their current average of c. 1,500-2,000 at STEP02 - though wasn't packed.
- host the Sh!ts in the next round (Sat 11/10/25 - match all ticket.)
- ground is now the designated Surrey FA HQ, so pretty plush all round as you'd expect.
- Been here once before post-upgrade - co-incidentally for another cup replay about 7-8 yrs ago, as they rose rapidly up the Pyramid.
- the 'hosts' have come a very long way in the last couple of decades - from the depths of the Sussex Leagues (no idea 8) ?) and spent a fair while in transition just up the hill at Westhumble
- they invested a fair amount of dough getting that up to a decent grading before being 'invited' to take occupancy here.

[NOSTALGIC INTERLUDE]
- a far cry from the ramshackle old pile this place used to be when the long-lost 'Chicks' [Dorking FC] :( were in residence back in the Diadora days.... and on into their slow painful demise sinking down thru the CCL.
- spent one 'glory year' up in what was the Isthmian Premier in the early 90's finished above Basingstoke and just below Wokingham Town but both the former were relegated. Stevenage were the divisional champs that season!
- looking further down that year (93-94) to reflect on other major ups/downs : Maidenhead Utd were lower-mid-table in Division One - Newbury won Div Two with 103 pts finishing ahead of Aldersh!t (also promoted) & Hungerford.
Bracknell won Div Three that season above Oxford City
- the biggest 'fall/rise' I could spot of those still in existence - were Horsham who finished at the foot of Div 3 - now up at STEP02.

Also the FA Sunday Cup starts again this weekend!

My favourite cup competition in all football

FC Bapco are playing Burghfield in the battle of the Reading Sunday League titans

Bapco have had a very good run the past 2 seasons, reaching the last 16 both years and losing on penalties to Baiteze (former winners 4 years ago) and Under the Rader FC (they really should have won that game but probably a good thing they didnt as Highgate fc pumped UTR 6-0 next  )

Highgate Albion the holders are playing a team based in Wycombe I think? They'll probably win it again as they are basically a step 3 non league team with a few steps 2 players

Tilehurst el patrons are also playing somebody

...may divert off to one of these after my Sun AM 'fix' - that's if it's not too damp like last week?
I'm of an age and disposition now that I don't relish standing around in a particularly soggy field - especially if it is actually raining too
- very few of these Sunday League outfits play at facilities with much cover or seating - a park bench if I'm lucky - hence why I tend to haul along my own chair.

BAPCO v Burghfield KO 13:30 pits (as you said) probably the best 2 Reading & District League sides together -which is a shame - but the whole draw this year seems to have even more inter-league ties than previously.

-Tilehurst EP take on Kingsclere (Newbury League) - that's at Tadley Calleva's Barlow's Pk also 13:30

There's one other 'local-ish' tie: Littlemore (from what was the Upper Thames Valley League - now badged 'Trailblazers Sunday Football League' :? ) host Tidworth from the Andover Sunday league up at North Leigh's Eynsham Hall. That's a 13:00 KO -doubt I can get there for KO from a 10:30 game.

RE Venues: BAPFO/'Fielders' tie above, is now listed at Rivermoor (weather permitting) rather than outside on the Scours La/Atrium Pitches.
BAPCO 'borrowed' it for their home FA Cup ties last season - el Patrons used the SB Stadium (Bracknell/Sandhurst) .
It is standard in this competition now for matches to be staged at local STEP03/4/5/6 grounds.

...and FYI (DC) Highgate Albion go to W.D.Herons from the Watford Sunday League : that tie will be staged at Northwood FC.

Im pretty sure bapco played a game at basingstoke town aswell last year because I think the rules say that from the last 16 onwards the stadiums need to have all the proper facilities as thats when the ties start getting a bit more scattered about

It might have been the one they lost against UTR

Thanks re Highgate

They're definitely the team to watch in this again, St Joseph's from Luton who have always pretty much got to the semis each year and Highgate beat last year, dont seem to be in it for whatever reason this year

They're the most successful team of recent/10 years by far

@FoC

How do SE Dons and AFC Whyteleafe keep trading players basically game by game lately?

Noticed a few times last season as a one off but happening alot now

No coincidence that the two managers are brothers :?

@FoC

Just perusing the fa sunday cup results now and a few to note are:

Tilehurst EP won 4-2

Baiteze fc won on pens (they won the cup 4 years ago... very good team)

Last seasons beaten finalist North Solihull won 2-1

Trooper FC also from Brum (they won 2 years ago but their team last year all went to North Solihull above ) won

As you mentioned bapco won and predictable Highgate won aswell... i hope bapco can go further this year as they really deserve to and have been unlucky

My local-ish team BN Dons won 5-1 away from home

East London Ballers (beaten semi finalist last year, new team and very very good as alot of them play step 3/4) won
