Royals and Racers West Ham lead 25 mins
0-2 42 mins
1-2 51 mins
1-3 69 mins
2-3 70 mins

If that's the final score, I think that will put us out as I suspect Swindon will beat MK Dons by at least 2

F-T 2-3 West Ham finish above us.

Not sure it's quite as cut and dried as that. MK Dons are at home and on a relatively decent run. Swindon not quite as good as earlier this season.

MK Dons can't qualify though so no incentive to go strong?

Swindon need to win by 3 or more, unless the head to head counts against us, in which case Swindon only need to win by 2 or more.

MK v Swindon is scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday 11 November

Their current goal difference is 2 worse with goals for only being 1 less, so a win by 2 goals will be enough

Yep, if they win by 2 they`ll have scored more than us.

Would be pretty suprised if Swindon don’t go through tbh.

If we do progress to the next stage ( round of 32) the draw is on Thursday at 2.30pm on SKY Sports news. We would be an away team.

It's far from improbable though, not really sure the nature of the West Ham U21 game where they got tonked but we were only able to beat them at home 1-0, not sure what teams both will put out as there are the minimum player requirements of the EFL trophy but they also have a game on Saturday to factor in.

Would love to progress just so we continue to have game time for our reserves and youth players.

Could of done that in the FA cup but nobody seemed too concerned we got knocked out of that by a lower league team, on that basis, not sure anyone would be bothered with this.

Given we fielded a strong team, and got beaten, I don’t see how we could.

Can they be punished for fielding such a weak squad and not trying? Not that I care about the competition, I think it would just be funny.

Only if they've not met the competition's squad requirements - four 'qualifying' players in their starting XI. Doing a quick scan of their team; I'm fairly certain they've done that.

We won't have to think about this competition until next July/August (whenever the draw is made for next season) then.

The Royal Forester I am sure that the Swinesden will make sure that we do not qualify for the knock games.

Would be a bold move of them to dliberately lose to West Ham U21s and require a 3 goal win against MK.

Is Ian going to be wrong?
