I think the match was chosen before they knew who would be playing in it.

Great idea

Ticket prices are insane.

Even the shit games like Ecuador v Curacao start at $180. Stadium will be empty.

Having said that... have applied for the Croatia game in Dallas, Ghana in Boston, and quarter final in Miami. If i get all three i am never going to financially recover from this.

I presume the pricing doesn’t include the flights from Europe and hotels and is largely down to FIFA? It is astoundingly ******* ridiculous, no doubt TV companies will be told to not show excessive shots of empty seats if they want to keep rights at future events.

Why doesn’t it dawn on these people that lowering the prices would attract more locals to check the event out which is surely one of the main points of bringing it to North America where the US & Canadian public mostly have no real interest in the sport? I thought FIFA was about developing the game in these sorts of places?

At least England fans won’t have to worry about the £6.5 grand GBP ticket for the final.

I could only apply for one game through FIFA's Random Selection Draw. So England V Croatia for the Bankbreaker.

There are cat 1 tickets but FIFA will not release these until later and will be subject to dynamic pricing so will probably end up more expensive than the others for popular games.

The PeopLOLe's Game.

Saw this for Croatia's pricing:

Netherlands:

Seems FIFA are charging extra for matches they expect to be in high demand, with a base of $180/$400/$500 depending on category.

For the likes of Haiti, a group stage match ticket will cost their supporters the equivalent of four months wages….not quite that good look that FIFA were looking for when increasing the inclusions.

And that's simply for the tickets! That doesn't consider flights; hotels; food/drink; transport; etc. Could easily end up being at least two years of wages for someone from Haiti or Ghana.

There's an article on the BBC about this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 988118gj9o

Although it's worth saying: for the likes of Haiti, their citizens are banned from entering the US entirely at the moment (or at least new visas aren't being issued).
