Well that was poor decision making from Nyambe. Easy ball out right, plays the hard ball forward badly and has to pull his man over to stop the 1v1.

God i'd kill for a functioning midfield.

Two successive managers doing the same Wing/Savage weak midfield

Hound Well it’s difficult to argue we deserve the win tbh

We create so little

I mean, we've created two genuine goals, they've scored two pathetic deflections. Wing and Marriott have both had shots well saved.

It's not like they've created much. 2 shots on target and one of their goals was an off target shot that ricocheted in.

Well quite

Plus some decent moves not finished off, like Kelvin not putting in the effort just now

Another sodding point! Really not good enough, don’t know whether to blame the miserable weather or the management for not sticking to something tried and tested previously.

pretty pants. would like to see a different midfield, Wing doesn't do enough for me and we never control games. Exeter deserved a point and worked alot harder than us.

Deflections happen - both our goals on Saturday were either a deflected cross or loose ball which just landed at our forwards feet. Not having it as bad luck

Wing and Marriotts save were routine really.

Don’t think they created loads either but a draw is about right.

Either way it’s 2 points from 3 games against mid table teams, 2 at home.

What like in the previous games when we took 1 point from 2?

What would be nice is if we try to teach defenders to block shots properly...

How was the first Exeter goal a lucky deflection anyway? He turned in a cross

Looking to run the clock down by, amongst other things, taking the ball to the corner with 13+ mins left rather than trying to score again did not please me.

Not exactly. The ball just appeared to hit Sweeney’s lower shin and fly off into the net, don’t recall seeing his leg move toward the ball at all. So it’s 3 of the last 4 goals conceded have been deflected. There has to be a point where this sort of cr@p luck ceases.

Disappointing.

Exeter quick out the gates to just pressure in an early goal, then sat back tight as fck to keep us from even breaking into the final third. Trouble is, we played into their gameplan by taking our time on the ball. The minute we passed it quicker, we broke their lines and scored. We desperately needed to stop pausing on the ball and get some one touch going.

If Keane hadn’t scored, I doubt we’d have seen him come out after the break. Feels like Leam wants to play with all his new toys at once - not sure if it worked with Keene in some weird Frankenstein position. Doyle had been growing as a 10, that feels a bit of wasted work if he’s constantly switching out wide from now on.

Also with both M and K starting, that leaves Kelvin coming off the bench to score - not a reliable attacking option really.

IMO, Leam has rushed into a new advanced formation when we seemed to be finding our feet with the old simpler one. But maybe we need to install it now, take some draws and watch it pay off later.

But man, that was a frustrating watch.

He turned his leg to send it towards goal. Can’t count that as a lucky goal, come on.
