Stranded A relative random over on Twitter claiming they have been told that is dead.

So club announcement at 18:00 then.

Waiting to hear from Brogue, before throwing in the towel on this one

Any news on outgoings, especially players like Stickland, Rushesha or Camara? Some loans for them would be good.

Not the type to make stuff up either. Lisbie also got a text from God saying he'll move when the time is right, so that might have something to do with it.

Deals can be concluded later than 7pm so long as the FL receive relevant paperwork before 7pm.

WestYorksRoyal Colchester journo reporting it'll only happen if they can get a replacement in.

Colchester’s scout just leaving on his bike to scour local playing fields

Seems the deal is dead because of a Colchester decision.
Ramy Abou-Setta [@ramy_abousetta] I understand that the deal was ultimately rejected by the club and not the player's camp - They weighed up their options and decided against selling the player.

Kyreece Lisbie wanted to come to Reading ahead of many interested clubs.

Brogue (Huang) has been singing over on Twitter -

Lisbie deal is dead, but…. Window is not over.

And

Do we have a contingency? Yes. Yes we do

Possibly Cheltenham town’s Jordan Thomas? (The player that Colchester had lined up to replace Lisbie)

The club have put one of their pre-announcement posts on Twitter now. Something's happening.

Now the obvious question is why wait to the last day when no one will have time to sort something like that out

Hope Reading will go back for him in the summer.

20 year old winger. Not played a lot really so not expecting him to feature a great deal tbh

Think you might be wrong there Hound, he played in Villa’s 3-2 win over Salzburg last week and set up the winner. Apparently highly rated by Dick, their manager. He’s right sided.

I hope I am. Seems to have the right attributes but just very little experience. I guess if DK is out for a while then he should get some game time there

I know nothing about him other than he's made a handful of cup appearances for Villa and Ashley is not his dad.

Probably because they weren't planning on going for him until DK got injured?

Hound I wasn’t a huge Noel Hunt fan but wonder how he feels on all this support given to the new manager

Yeh, either the money wasn't there at the time, while they waited for more investors. Or he got well and truly stitched up. Maybe a bit of both.

Or possibly Noel didn’t really push his case or the players weren’t available for deals to be done.

Hard to say re support from above really - I believe we signed 3 players for fees in the summer (Lane, Ritchie & Marriott) and 2 in this window. Hunt would have had input into some of the poor loans such as O'Mahony and Jacob and also the poor contracts offered to Wareham & Craig would at least be partly down to his views on them.

I think its likely the better quality of signings this window is at least partly down to Leam having more contacts/bigger network than Hunt did.

What about the scouting network here, it's as much their failings as anything. Mr Carey should have done better. I can see the young players being those who impressed Noel when he was managing the U21s but they just haven't really taken their opportunity and stepped like I would presume he hoped. Do not understand the Jacob signing at all, supposedly a left back from a higher level but looked as lost as the youngsters brought in then got injured. All this might be more to do with management and playing style issues than the individuals but even so MOM and Doyle haven't really progressed under Leam while Burns does seem to have kicked on better.

Don't get why Wareham wasn't offered a longer deal - he had really grown up last season and is much superior to MOM - we may have had two strikers in double figures had he stayed :D That is a mistake that Noel made.
