Sure, but - while I don't approve of disabled fans getting hassle, that is beyond pathetic - I have some grudging admiration for United fans. Fair play to them for (literally) taking a stand against the ludicrous 'safety' regulations so rigorously enforced by these licencing authorities and control-freak safety officers. Getting spectators sat down at football has bugger all to do with safety, it is all about 'controlling' football supporters, singling people out and removing those who don't fit the cosy family image most clubs seem so desperate to attract.Terminal Boardom wrote:And then we get threads about reintroducing safe standing areas in football grounds. Hang on, what does that clip prove about this subject???
Precisely. But the argument for introducing safe standing gets dilluted every time something like this happens. Until football supporters can prove that they can be trusted, respected and no longer seen as a threat to world peace, the debate will never move on.floyd__streete wrote:Sure, but - while I don't approve of disabled fans getting hassle, that is beyond pathetic - I have some grudging admiration for United fans.
