Why would pulling out of signing a defender be 'for the the best' if the club were about the announce the signing of a centre forward?

Long standing beef I think m8, started when Karleigh 'shopped a photo of Katie Price's head onto Rhodes's body and stuck it up all round Yorkshire. The club only just found out about it and had to quickly pull out of the Osborne deal.
