Be serious, Wolves can only get 106 after we have beaten them at their place!Tony Le Mesmer wrote:Almost there...

Do we not hold an unofficial record for the earliest title secured? Man City might best that.

Even if they do beat the title secured record, Man. City cannot get our record of the earliest promotion gainedTony Le Mesmer wrote:Almost there...

Unfortunately, neither of those are records that we hold (and it's my fault that people think we have the promotion one). Reading got promotion at Leicester on 25 March. In advance of that game, I had read in an old Rothmans that Notts County had the earliest ever promotion on 28 March 1998. I told the club and the Post, both of whom used the information. The Royal Forester wrote:Even if they do beat the title secured record, Man. If Man City did manage to get promoted, what league would they go into? Do the leagues fold round and they end up in League Two?The Royal Forester wrote:Even if they do beat the title secured record, Man. I know, it'll just be fun to watch them shit themselvesSilver Fox wrote:Like anything will happen to them if they breach FFP! Interesting that the report mentions the massive fine dished out to QPR, how did that work out eh?
It would be freakin' hilarious if they had points deducted to deny them promotion!genome wrote:I know, it'll just be fun to watch them shit themselvesSilver Fox wrote:Like anything will happen to them if they breach FFP! Won't happen but it states a sanction is deduction of points to deny them promotion. Any idea if that would be enough points to ensure they don't go up automatically or to ensure they miss out on the playoffs?
They can actually choose to bump them out of the promotion/playoff places altogether, it is not limited to a fixed point deduction.Stranded wrote:Won't happen but it states a sanction is deduction of points to deny them promotion. Or if they broke the points record, and didn't get promoted.Snowflake Royal wrote:Obvs won't happen, but given the size of losses we're talking about, preventing promotion this season would almost have to guarantee no promotion the next two seasons as well without a dramatic firesale and slashing of the wage bill.
It'd be hilarious if Wolves finished top three seasons running and still didn't get promoted
Or in my scenario three times.muirinho wrote:Or if they broke the points record, and didn't get promoted.Snowflake Royal wrote:Obvs won't happen, but given the size of losses we're talking about, preventing promotion this season would almost have to guarantee no promotion the next two seasons as well without a dramatic firesale and slashing of the wage bill.

It's not that I've got anything specifically against Wolves in particular - but I'm desperate for them to use their new powers against somebody. It only has to happen once, for clubs to take FFP seriously.
Bloody Scunthorpe - if they'd held out for another 4 minutes we'd be safe. At least for a sharewindermereROYAL wrote:Nearly there Wolves need to win all their last 10 games to equal it. likewise Wigan to beat it.
