04 Apr 2023 13:55Yes, excellent article and feel a bit better - and it reads like the committee rejected the asset sale idea anyway and that lack of player sales led soley to the breach.windermereROYAL wrote:Very impressive statement from Bowen, the club have spoken, that`s all we asked.

Lets see if they have the balls for a survival scrap.

04 Apr 2023 13:59Reading Mark Bowen's and the club's statements, it seems to me we got this 6 points docked for not selling any/enough players. It seems that we agreed to sell some players within the "business plan", but were not able to. How the EFL expected us to sell crooked (Moore) or players not up to the required standard (insert your favourite names here). After all any player can refuse to move and is entitled to stay where he is overpaid and not go to a club which will pay him less.Hound wrote:Well confirmed but still not clear exactly what we did wrong. Proper fcuking annoying weve had so many restrictions and still managed to break the plan.
Club statement kind of suggests they think they’ve done everything reasonable to stick by the plan
At least it is the end of it this summer. What a painful few years

That last point is the only positive - the decision we reached with the EFL saved us last year and despite the new deduction means we still have our survival in our own hands this. Without it, we would be down in League 1 already whereas we only may be.Dirk Gently wrote:One word : Puscas. The Royal Forester wrote:Reading Mark Bowen's and the club's statements, it seems to me we got this 6 points docked for not selling any/enough players. We were banking on selling him.
We didn't sell him.
End of.
But still, -6 last year and -6 this year is much better than the alternative, which would have been -12 last year in one go and definite relegation.

We may have been banking on selling Puscas, but could (maybe he did) refuse to leave for a lower wage though.
