Reading are a has-been club, on the way down. We are on the up even though we lost tonight. Two and a half weeks to get these two, recent, poor results out of our system. Then we go again...not the end of the world. More lessons to be learnt by everyone and we'll come out fighting again. COYB

I would put Steve Evans, a man we've loved to hate, down as an opposition fan for last night's game. He was, however, very fair and balanced with his comments and assessment of the game, paying us quite a few compliments.

Interestingly, both he and Jobi (perhaps less of a surprise) clearly stated that they didn't think any yellow cards should have been issued for the offences committed by Dorsett and DK in the mistaken identity incident. Free kick? Yes, Yellow card offence? No. in their opinions.

Yeah I'd agree with that, thought Evans was very fair overall in his assessment of the game. Seems to have lost quite a bit of weight too, I recall him being quite rotund as a manager

42Kg in six months through lots of exercise and diet! They were teasing him at the end about having to get up in again in a few hours for his morning swim.

Certainly very knowledgeable about making illegal payments to players and tax fraud.

I think that for clubs like Stevenage, they have an inevitable ceiling at the top end of League 1 because they will struggle to compete financially at Championship level or above, they just don't have the fanbase, infrastructure or commercial appeal, so it ingrains an almost inferiority complex in the fan base which tends to make them obnoxious and sneering towards any club that has reached higher and fallen back down. I thought the same when Vince Dale used to waffle on about FGR competing in the Championship. You're in a town of 6,000 people and your average attendance is 2,000. PSR will fcuk you over.

PSR is why clubs like Crawley and Salford haven't pushed on. Unless you get a very lucky season, like Burton had in 2015-16 - when their League Two promotion momentum took them to back-to-back promotions, the limit really is League One with crowds below 4,000.

I think the proposals from the L1 owners group are intended to create a more level playing field than PSR currently does. If owners want to try to buy their way to success, over and above the initial equal financial ceiling given to all clubs, they will have to pay a surcharge into the league pool, which is then distributed to those clubs that stick to the limit. Can't remember whether it was 100% or 50% of what they overspend by, I think it might be the former. Revenue from player sales can be spent over and above the limit as might be some amount (to be determined) of gate and commercial receipts.

But PSR doesn’t stop you spending on a stadium, so a wealthy owner can invest in the infrastructure and the youth set-up at will, put in the facilities, then put together a good squad on the pitch to draw in larger crowds, and build a new team sustainably. Thats what Madejski did.

Having lived a long tome in Salford, i don’t see how they get out of the shadow of Old Trafford. Pretty much everyone around there is a red - or they were when I lived there. And they’re all skint.

They don't - but there's probably room for a clear 'third club' in the area.

I find it interesting that FC United did their climb up the league which basically falters the moment Salford come along.
