Who is there to stop that happening, or indeed find a replacement for him?windermereROYAL wrote:I`d be lying if I said I wasn`t gutted by this news, but to be fair it was just a matter of time with the state we`ve been in for the last year.
I`ll wish him all the best when it happens but that will turn to ill feeling if he comes back and raids our crown jewels next month.
Somebody gave Hull permission to talk to him, I`d imagine the same person(s) makes decisions over transfers.traff wrote:Who is there to stop that happening, or indeed find a replacement for him?windermereROYAL wrote:I`d be lying if I said I wasn`t gutted by this news, but to be fair it was just a matter of time with the state we`ve been in for the last year.

IMO the biggest risk of Wing going is if Wycombe manage to get promoted to The Championship (assuming we don't!) and then try to get him back. In that event he could stay living where they're settled now.katweslowski wrote:Wing wouldn't go
His partner is heavily integrated in the culture (if that exists anymore) and the club. She's really happy and has said before that they both wanted to settle and stay long term.
A slide accelerated by a points deduction as fans demonstrate that they have finally really had enough of it all and take their grief and anger out on what's left of the business managementJR wrote:Us fans are not allowed to enjoy being a Reading supporter for that long are we.
The euphoria of last night followed by the despair of today.
This will lead to a mass exodus and asset stripping in January, followed by a slide towards the bottom.
I think you misunderstood the situation the club will receive compensation, he is effectively being sold.Royal Monkey wrote:People saying they cant blame Selles for leaving, well I can especially if it’s to Hull ! Dump at the arse end of nowhere, relegation position and another basket case owner.
People also reference last manager to leave us in good position was Pardew and he is is still hated and called Judas!
In fact Selles leaving would be a worse betrayal knowing the club is on a knife edge and the massive negative effect him leaving could cause. The club shouldn’t be letting him talk to Hull and he shouldn’t want to.
Selles, your being paid and you have a contract so honor your contract get on with your job and don’t become the biggest Judas in the clubs history!
Funny how someone at the club can negotiate to get rid of our manager in 24 hours but can’t sell the club in 24 ‘kin months!
I think people underestimate the toll of working at the club; not knowing when bad news will break, when the bills will stop being paid, what protests may occur etc., Plus, while Hull itself isn't much to write home about, he can probably buy a massive fcuk off house on the Yorkshire coast within about 30 minutes drive.Royal_jimmy wrote:Hull would be a terrible move for Selles. Terrible city and part of the country, a club who could be playing in our league next year, who don't play similarly to us. If Selles was smart he'd say no and hold out. If he'd gone to say Leicester, Southampton or West Brom I'd understand it more.
Not sure he'd be wise to buy a house up there given they sacked a manager for finishing 7th just a few months ago.WestYorksRoyal wrote:I think people underestimate the toll of working at the club; not knowing when bad news will break, when the bills will stop being paid, what protests may occur etc., Plus, while Hull itself isn't much to write home about, he can probably buy a massive fcuk off house on the Yorkshire coast within about 30 minutes drive.Royal_jimmy wrote:Hull would be a terrible move for Selles.
