Once the results started to downturn, we got into a habit of losing late,
Literally one game, right?
Perhaps not losing, perhaps conceding late - Bolton, Exeter, Port Vale, Huddersfield, Lincoln - they felt like loses

So Leam has now had a public “owner’s vote of confidence”

Half the “dressing room” will be gone pre 26/27 season
My worry is that it will be the wrong half and we will be left with Richardson's favourites like WIll Keane!

He's not blind. Surely we won't go in for Keane permanently?

No and they’ve said his output wasn’t as they were hoping

It’s seems a bit of a stupid brush to hit him with - not a lot available in Jan and Keane ticked the boxes. His recent record is far better than Marriotts for example - it just hasn’t worked out for whatever reason - maybe lack of fitness, not due diligence on his current level

Stupid question probably, but isn’t there a potential option where LR changes the tactics?

I mean, I don’t just get sacked at work if I’m trying something that doesn’t pan out. I change. Are managers not capable of changing, learning and growing?

There are some occasions where you know after 6 months that a manager isn't going to work out. But, we're simply not there with Leam. I accept the criticisms, I also hate the negative football right now. I can see why fans might want to gamble on a change. But i'd rather gamble on things getting better under him. The odds are probably in his favour over a brand new manager.

And that's the thing we need to remember - every new manager is more likely to fail than succeed. Look at Man United and their billions, connections and experience and their absolute failure to hire the 'right' manager.

Give him a transfer window, a preseason and a couple of months to mould the new team and we'll then see if things are better or not. What do we have to lose? One more crappy season of football - you might as well just add it to the pile.

We are talking about a manager who most recently before given the chance to resurrect his career, finished bottom of the league back to back with a combined goal difference of -79. I think that concentrating on defensive matters and defensive shape were always going to be very high on his list. Seemingly, the only thing on his list. Be harder to beat.
If you get this right, the constant menace of Marriot will nick you points.
As far as attacking intent goes. There is one tactic we have constantly worked to all season. Get Wing in as much space and time as possible on the ball and go from there. It was enough to get us out of relegation trouble and i have no doubt that this was the remit given to Richardson when he took over from Noel.
He has the backing of the people who matter. Seems to be better at managing up rather than down at the moment. I can safely assume that there have been huge efforts since January to identify exactly what is needed in the Summer to take the squad forward.

Will be an interesting media day. That lad at the Chronicle probably hasn't endeared himself to the club. Richardson will surely have to answer questions on the noise this week.

Yes it will be very interesting to see what questions will be asked....and indeed who plays on Saturday.

Ejaria walked out after an away game and got the train back a few years ago and never played for the club again.

Except Wing just hangs around in his own third and passes nearly every ball backwards.

Our goals seem to have come mostly from occasions we forget to play to LRs script, move the ball forward quickly and play football, rather than all this passing around at the back, getting caught in possession and conceding.

That's a big gamble though. A manager has to earn the right to get money to spend. If we had improved I'd give him some money.....but we haven't. If anything we seem worse and directionless on the pitch, with poor decisions in-game being made by the manager.
I really want him to succeed but if we now have dressing room problems and it's more than one player, which it maybe, we have a problem....

So the rules say he has two more games and then gets sacked.

I hope the owners have the sense to realise that if LR has genuinely lost the dressing room, that his position is untenable and they will need to move him despite the fact this will fly in the face of their strategy and hopes of stability. I have a nasty feeling they will stubbornly dig in rather than admitting defeat and this could ultimately see our better players agitating to leave.
