One of my best mates dad’s fought in the Spanish civil war. He ended up on the losing side and a million people sadly lost their lives.

Spain’s primary exports are vehicles, chemical fuels and those straw donkeys with sombreros.

Been watching the Tour de France up in the Basque region and that looks lovely, surprisingly green they get a fair bit of rain. And not too hot.

Direct ferries from the UK. maybe one for the campervan one day.

The precipitation of water vapour in Spain occurs mostly in the flat areas, allegedly.

interesting fact (no asterisk):

San Sebastian is the city/region reputed to have the best food in Spain. And that bay is beautiful. https://lilivalentine.com/2018/the-10-b ... sebastian/

I will be on holiday in St Jean de Luz in August, just across the border. Will defo pop over.

Any thoughts on the flavour of water in the Balearics?

Yeah, get stuck in to San Sebastian, the old town is stacked full of bars. Went in 2022, it was E3.50 for a half of beer in most bars and the same again for a small snack. Meander from place to place. Great.

In terms of weather, my experience is that Cantabria is hot, but either side, Basque and Asturias are very green. The jump from Cantabria to Asturias on the coastal road is almost like a border.

^^^Better than random thoughts about Gloucester.

I haven't tried it myself, but I appreciate your question, as I have heard from several reliable sources that the actual taste of said water is somewhat different to what one might expect, taking into account local minerals, hardness, acidity and other factors.

I have drunk the water in Majorca, but it was many years ago so can’t remember the flavour

Ok, but do you remember being somewhat surprised by its taste?
