Newport Pagnell are step 5 so just seems strange to me if you consider their recent cup records (B&B and Vase) and look at some of the clubs given a bye to R2Q (e.g. Buckingham are step 6 I think).

Also did Windsor & Eton not enter or don't they get a chance to enter because they are too low in the pyramid despite having Stag Meadow to play at?

Found out last evening that the 26 step 5 and 6 clubs went into the draw with 20 teams required for 10 matches in Qualifying round 1 hence the 6 byes to 2nd qualifying round.

...meant to follow that up .... as I knew there had been delays finishing off re-surfacing work at Uxbridge's Honeycroft Stadium, where Langley are supposed to be 'lodging' for 23-24 - having left Arbour Pk.
Ironic then that Uxbridge have been temporarily sharing at Slough in the interim and Langley are having to scour round for other venues when required.
....just established 'The Red Army, (Uxbridge) are having a 'grand homecoming' on 14th Oct v Leatherhead so would imagine Langley will start playing 'home games' there not long after??

Think there are a few B&B games on tomorrow as per the schedule above but I'd usually opt for watching a (non) League game over County Cups at this early stage - though Wed's tie at Burnham looks enticing?

As for the B&B Trophy (or Charles Twelftree) - still haven't worked-out what's a doin' with East Berks side East Reading - don't seem to have a settled base (variously Calcot/Southcote/Prospect Pk) - played a league game (abandoned) by hiring Burghfield CSA. Now had their next 2 fixtures postponed including the Trophy game at N.Berks outfit Drayton.

If what was true about the scenes reported at their aban. game v Hype Train it could be they are under league suspension.

Doesn't bode well for if/when they are scheduled to play 'SS Slough' ..... which I think they are due to do early next month?.

I really enjoy watching games on the 3/4G pitches. I cannot fault anything about the games i have seen at Slough,Ascot, Beaconsfield and now Sandhurst. Kids football on the pitch until 7pm last evening- definitely the way forward for forward thinking non- league clubs.
