The 3-1 win at Tranmere was on Youtube for ages, but I've lost it..Jackson Corner wrote:It was a special performance. Bearing in mind the importance of the game must rate as one of the best away performances. Archie and Nogan were umplayable that day. Any chance of someone putting the goals on u-tube?
Victor Meldrew gave me his VHS of that game and I'm going to put onto DVD, so bear with me and I'll rip the goals and put up shortly. Won't be today though.Jackson Corner wrote:It was a special performance. Bearing in mind the importance of the game must rate as one of the best away performances. Any way of uploading it? That game, Sheff Utd away in 2003 and Ipswich in 2005/6 are the best 3 away performances I've seen Reading give.Aubery Boyce wrote:agree. we were superb that day. could have got a hatful.
got it on VHS if anyone wants to watch!!
I dunno, Man City away 06/07 runs Sheff Utd pretty close IMO. Can't argue with the other two though...Royalee wrote:Any way of uploading it? How about Burnley away in 94/95? Oh no, you missed that one didn't you. How about Charlton away in the same season?Ark Royal wrote:95 POs First Leg: Tranmere 1 Reading 3.
Reading's greatest ever away performance? I am struggling to think of another (that I have witnessed).
Cu nt. When you land in Chicago next month, I am just going to leave you there.Terminal Boardom wrote:How about Burnley away in 94/95? Oh no, you missed that one didn't you. How about Charlton away in the same season?Ark Royal wrote:95 POs First Leg: Tranmere 1 Reading 3.

That said, that Tranny game was awesome. We could have scored 6. I remember the tv commentary starting off very pro Tranmere but the longer the game went the more the commentary team realised that we were half decent. What pissed me off was that they only gave us 3,000 or so tickets. They were sold inside 1 day. They could have given us the whole stand and we would have filled it. It was a very loud day and going home with a sense of having witnessed something very special.
I think Liverpool was a great result, but the performance at Tranny was way better. Tranny were pretty much unbeatable at home that season.Gordons Cumming wrote:Chelsea 2, Reading 2................best away performance?
I must admit Liverpool away this season supercedes the Tranmere game for me.
Agree - with what was on the game as well - we had nothing to loose at Liverpool. I think Tranmere won 21 out of 23 home games that season.Ark Royal wrote:I think Liverpool was a great result, but the performance at Tranny was way better.
