Michail Antonio has signed for Championship side Sheffield Wednesday for a fee understood to be not far short of one million pounds. Antonio has had four years at Reading FC but spent most a lot of his time either out on loan or on the bench. Out of 28 league appearances for the Royals 24 of them saw him come on as a substitute. The player had loan spells at Cheltenham, Southampton and Colchester before joining the owls on loan last season. His five goals from 14 appearances helped in their promotion out of Division One.
Meanwhile striker Karl Sheppard has joined Accrington Stanley on a six-month loan deal. Sheppard arrived at Reading at the start of 2012 on a free transfer from Ireland after making a handful of appearances for Shamrock Rovers. Sheppard is yet to feature for the Royals' first team.
