Time For Consistency As Derby Visit

Following the big win at Leeds United mid-week it's time to see how realistic Reading's chances of promotion are this season, as third placed Derby County visit the Madejski Stadium on Saturday. The best Reading can hope for this season is a play-off finish and Derby are also unlikely to finish in the top two. The two sides could well meet in the play-offs if Reading can finish above teams like Wigan and Brighton.

Reading have struggled to maintain any kind of form this season with a good result or two often followed up by some disappointment. The win at Leeds saw Reading's away record creep above our home record - the Royals have secured 28 points on the road and 27 at home. A pick-up in home form could be just what we need to keep promotion hopes alive. It's not quite win or bust yet - but this game will give a big indication if Reading have what it takes to go up this year.

Over on the discussion forums there's mixed opinions but Reading fans overall seem to think we'll defeat Derby. There's some good historic justification for that - Reading really do always do very well against County. Out of the last twelve encounters between the two sides, the Royals have picked up an amazing ten victories.
