Hector And Taylor Extend Contracts

Michael Hector and Jake Taylor have signed new contracts to keep them at Reading Football Club until the summer of 2016. Both players broke through to the first team this season and look exciting prospects for next season, and the future, after gaining experience last term. The new contracts are certainly good news, but it does fit with the club's policy of retaining a young, and cheap, squad for the new season.

Hector has had plenty of experience out on loan, including a successful spell in Scotland at Aberdeen. This season he also made four league starts for the Royals and came off the bench for a further five appearances. Jake Taylor also made nine league appearances last season, although his were all from the bench. He did start in the FA Cup for Reading in the 0-1 defeat at Brighton. Both players have had long professional contracts with Reading and will see 2014/2015 as a huge opportunity to become regular first team players for the Royals.
