Reading will face Portsmouth at Fratton Park in the second round of the League Cup following our first round victory over Colchester United. The second round game will take place in Portsmouth on 25 August 2015. Portsmouth, once a force in English football, find themselves in League Two following their recent downturn in fortunes. However they did pull off a first round shock in the competition - beating Derby County 2-1 at home, while Reading just about navigated through thanks to Chris Gunter's late 115th minute goal in Colchester.
Meanwhile, Reading will be looking for their first league points of the season this weekend as Leeds United visit for the Madejski Stadium's first fixture of the new campaign. Leeds have one more point than Reading after drawing 1-1 at home to Burnley on the opening day of the season. The Royals will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the home fixture last February when Leeds picked up a two goal victory without reply.
